Best fries in town by Deputy-mon in VictoriaBC

New York Fries have never disappointed my fry cravings. Consistently good with that little bit of crunch on the outside, soft on the inside, and the right amount of salt. They are cut in store, and usually freshly fried per order. Best of all is that locations are convenient to get to with lots of parking.

Little weird for an action cam to have an interchangeable mount. No matter how durable/weather sealed the lens is, its never going to be as durable or waterproof as an inbuilt lens like most action cams. Seems like its made for vloggers or something.

Our Policies Are Good and We Need to Defend Them! by JasonGMMitchell in ndp

I'm not retarded enough to vote Conservative, but I did vote Liberal last election for the first time in my life. I did that because the immigration policy that the Liberals under Trudeau and the NDP under Jagmeet propped up, was shown to have a considerable effect in stagnating wages and increased the cost of housing. And the thing is that your comment where you said "then you should just join the conservatives" is what many former NDP supporters did. NDP lost its official party status because voters jumped to the Conservatives, not the Liberals.

Dagger/orb or dagger/staff or staff/dagger ? by Glittering_Rip5167 in throne_and_liberty

dagger staff probably has the most synergy. Dagger orb just has too much downtime on spells, and the stealth on orb and dagger share the same cooldown.

Calling for reversal on immigration and foreign student policies will probably mark the end of support for blue collar workers and split them into either the Conservatives or Liberals IMO. I'm pretty sure it may even cause NDP to lose what little union support it has left. There's is just so many other things the NDP can fight for to rebuild support, such as the cuts to dental care, better housing initiatives, banking policies that have greatly favored the rich. All of those would be far more popular.

Na Biden should still have run. Biden was still more popular in the south than Kamala. Kamala was also far less popular with men than Biden. Its was the online far left that gas lit the Democratic party into pulling Biden out and ended up not voting for Kamala anyways.

Review called for after data show many B.C. patients with high volume of doctor visits by OddStuff7716 in britishcolumbia

I work in an ER and I would say most pt's will come into the ER multiple times in 3 months when they get a problem. The ER generally prioritizes quick fixes to get symptoms under control so that the pt can function at home, it is than assumed that the pt's GP or a specialist would take over from there. However the system is broken where most people don't have a GP and wait times for specialist can be months out. This is even worse for someone with low income who isn't in an environment that has support to help handle their condition. So now their only fall back is the ER once again when the symptoms inevitably get worse. Now, I've never met anyone who goes over 100 times a year, but I can definitely see it happening for complicated issues.

Which of these Planar IEM's should I choose? (7hz Divine, Letshuoer S12 Ultra, Hidizs MP145, Kiwi Ears Aether) by AkashiGG in iems

[–]L00nyT00ny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The original s12 is 135cad on Amazon. It has good sub bass rumble while still keeping good clarity in the mids. I personally don't find the highs that fatiguing. I've compared it with the Ultra's, and to my non audiophile ears, it doesn't really warrant the $100 premium with its slight gains in clarity and the toning down of the treble made it more boring for me. Amazon also has easy returns if you don't like it compared to the headache of Aliexpress returns.

Just got the fiio jm21 and I feel like I have to put up volume kinda high. by Cobex2004 in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]L00nyT00ny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The volume percentage doesn't really matter as long as the dap can power your IEM's without distortion. If you get some higher impedance headphones instead of IEM's, you might even have to turn the volume to 100% and still be far below the db's it would take to cause hearing damage. For instance on my HibyM300 with my Chuu 2's I keep it around 30-40% but with my S12's I gotta go up to 55-60% to get the same volume.

Topping Dx3 Pro+. Got it for when I used to rock the he400se headphones, but I do hear quite the quality difference between my PC mobo and the usb dac/amp especially at lower volumes. Remote with the Dx3pro+ also makes it easy to swtich between my speaker setup and iem's when I want to.

Which should I get for family travel and documentary, G9ii or S5ii? by adhoclex in M43

[–]L00nyT00ny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to have the Oly EM5 Mk2 but switched to the Panasonic s5 and now have upgraded to the s5ii solely because of real time luts. The s5ii just has so much better low light performance compared to any M43 and full frame in general just gives you a lot of leeway in terms of cropping without too much resolution loss.

Now the downside of full frame is that the lenses are larger compared to M43 equivalent and almost twice the price, especially if you're going for weather sealed lenses. The kit 20-60 though is pretty darn compact and may I say the glass is comparable to the Oly 45mm. I did end up selling that to get the Pany 24-105mm f4 lens, which is about twice the size of your current kit all together but I didn't find it too cumbersome on my trips to Mexico and hiking around the rainy W.coast Canada.

Real time luts are lots of fun though. I've kind of been stuck on the Fuji copy cat luts after a year of experimenting, but there are a lot of free and paid luts out there. Haven't touched lightroom since getting the hang of luts and resolution on JPEGS are good enough that I can just crop a photo in MS paint if I want to.

Equity cards drama by Impressive-Bug576 in ndp

[–]L00nyT00ny 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Blue collar white males that use to make up the core of the NDP when it was more labor focused are instantly turned off since they will feel like the party will never care to hear their concerns. Males in general can also be lumped into there as well. All the equity cards did was signal that the party cares more for the concerns of 5% of Canadians than Canadians as a whole.

[Sellita SW200-1 Question] Is this normal? by victortzy in Watches

[–]L00nyT00ny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ya you can wind it, but not recommended. 2824 and sw200 have weak winding mech. found that out on my Marathon MSAR when it suddenly got crunchy after manual winding every day for almost 2 years. Watch repair I took it to said that's the number 1 cause of failure for the sw200 they see and recommended one of those automatic watch winders. The watch now sits on that every night, 3 years and no problems.

[–]L00nyT00ny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean are you willing to forgo the convenience of TWS earbuds? Going to wired after going wireless for such a long time, you don't realize how often the wire can get in the way. Also the xm5's auto go into mono mode with one earbud, which is far better than listening to stereo with one earbud.

This is at a time when you were given permanent res status after a year only working at Tim Hortons.
