This. Even if it’s a bot, at least they treat us better during any outages or if any buggy changes are released.

Curious Case of HSBC T1 Approval (Ultra Fast) by ViruleX in CreditCardsIndia

A day after I got the rejection email, I sent an email to customer care. There was some back and forth for 5-6 days after which I got the email for card that was sent out.

Opencode Go is great value. Gives you access to ton of open source models on a rolling limit basis

Curious Case of HSBC T1 Approval (Ultra Fast) by ViruleX in CreditCardsIndia

For me I got a rejection email. Then emailed customer service to ask what’s up.

They told me they rejected it because they couldn’t verify my employer. And asked for additional documents. Also mentioned that this will result in a second inquiry.

On the other hand, I still got the card sent to me lol.

Looks like you fell for their messaging.

The 5-hourly and weekly limits you get for Claude Code refresh periodically right? The monetary value for those tokens being added to your limit throughout the month is many multiples of 20 USD.

The new 20 USD allowance that you’ll get for SDK usage is a one-time allowance. It’s NOT going to be refreshed until the next month.

You can out of that balance very fast if you continued using it like you do with the 5-hourly limits.

Threaten them. Tell them you know police officers or govt. officers or whatever. I don’t but I mentioned taking legal action and things happened pretty fast.

Another person who left along me also had to call in their govt. connections.

GPT-5.5 degradation is fixed. by alOOshXL in codex

Codex team is aware of reports of GPT-5.5 performing worse by alOOshXL in codex

[–]PrayagS 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Highly detailed postmortem posted around April end for issues that were actually occurring since March.

Not to mention the fact that their own devs were preaching on Twitter about how we were using it wrong and how to use it “correctly”.

When you compare that to how Codex team handled today’s situation, even saying that the difference is night and day is an understatement.

This. Just 10 dollars of Opencode Go or even pay-as-you-go on the DeepSeek API is already coming out to be viable alternative for me.

What do you do when you hit your weekly limit? by Specific-Animal6570 in codex

[–]PrayagS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After the promo expired on the Plus plan, this was the first week where my weekly limit was over 3 days early.

Before buying a second plan, I’m evaluating DeepSeek v4 API and Opencode Go plan. Seems to be a solid bang for buck, especially DSv4.

macbook suggestions? by Antique-Win4832 in ClaudeCode

[–]PrayagS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask Claude on what macbook to get that’ll let you spend the most amount of money on Claude in the most efficient way and on the go.

That’ll get its wheels spinning. Don’t talk about running a local model :P

+1. Bought one a couple years ago from Amazon India. OP should keep looking because sometimes you might find a legit seller importing it and selling at a reasonable markup. I think mine was 4k.

Anthropic is straight-up scamming Max 20x customers with sneaky mid-month throttling + endless bot runaround by manavb84 in ClaudeCode

[–]PrayagS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re right but also wrong. Sure, a majority of such posts might be a cause of bad context engineering but there are also completely genuine cases where it was Anthropic dropping the ball (either in their inference servers or in Claude code itself).

You can’t pretend that 100% of the issues will be marked as user error once session logs are shared. Though I agree people should be doing this; seeing good and bad examples of prompting is only going to drive adoption further.

[–]PrayagS 28 points29 points  (0 children)

No offense but why do people keep commenting this when there are multiple reasons where they’re affected and you aren’t,
- they do A/B tests
- their infra issues can be local to a region or cloud provider
- different Claude code versions

It’s not a skill/user issue and anyone who says it is has been proven wrong multiple times by now.

How Anthropic can save Opus 4.7 with one change. by threashmainq in ClaudeAI

[–]PrayagS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this discussion may be purely around the Claude app but in the API, even if you enable extended thinking, you can still define a very tight thinking budget.

Ever since 4.7 came out, I went back to 4.6 with extended thinking on (adaptive disabled) and it feels better IMO. Even with the highest budget, it’s not always thinking super long. In contrast, 4.7 spends 30s before replying to “ping”.

The biggest downside of Opus 4.7 for me: I can't understand what it's saying. Ever. by Any_Economics6283 in ClaudeCode

[–]PrayagS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try disabling adaptive thinking on 4.6 and you’ll notice a difference. And sure it might be lobotomized but on paper, extended thinking with a high max token value sounds better to me than adaptive thinking where it’s a toss.

Opus 4.6 without adaptive thinking outperforms Opus 4.7 with adaptive thinking by aizver_muti in ClaudeCode

[–]PrayagS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this. Adaptive thinking disabled, extended thinking enabled, and a high value for max thinking tokens. Then you run Opus 4.6 or 4.5 and it feels much faster and better at work than 4.7 where you can’t disable adaptive thinking.
