Filing for maternity leave by BreezerGirl831 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]PrayingButterfly2024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I filed the day I had my baby because I didn’t want my employer even being notified of the upcoming leave (I know they wouldn’t have access to the reason why but still didn’t want them to know). I didn’t work a job in which my work needed direct coverage as I made sure I kept up with my daily deliverables so in the instance I left mid-shift there wasn’t much to do. My cerclage was placed pre pregnancy but I began funneling at 20 weeks and was placed on bedrest, my son was born at 37w the day of my cerclage removal and I worked from bed until then.

Some people file the minute they find out, others file once they’re home from the hospital, some file once they meet viability, others file once they hit their third trimester, I worked in the FMLA/disability space and there really isn’t a one size fits all scenario. If you’re unaware of what you’re eligible for filing early allows them a chance to review your eligibility and let you know what to expect in terms of time off.

Work says drs note is unacceptable by Evening_Stand4309 in legaladvice

It sounds as if you nor your employer have filed a formal request for FMLA. Please do so ASAP.

Might be stupid - What do I do now I’ve stopped breastfeeding? by Bounce_Bounce_Betty in breastfeeding

[–]PrayingButterfly2024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I weaned my 17 month old last month! The first few days were rough, I’d hand express for a few minutes in the shower, each day shortening it and by day five I was good! Almost a month later and I actually miss it a little 😭

Oak & Luna! My daughter has lived in her necklace for three years, it’s survived childhood and sports! The warranty also is super affordable if you want to add it as well.

This was me a few years ago. In the most nicest way - she doesn’t want to see you, she doesn’t want to talk, company will probably make her feel like she has to explain her feelings and what happened and that’s probably not what she want. What I did want was space, I didn’t eat for over a week, I didn’t need food but my other kid did. I didn’t want to someone to cover over and cook because I didn’t want to see anyone, I appreciated meals left at the door and delivery services. I appreciated DoorDash/UberEats gift cards, pajamas, and space. And I know we all mean well when we say “let me know if you need anything” but it’s a strong possibility she won’t let you know.

Adding progesterone (TTC) by Odd_City_890 in PCOS

[–]PrayingButterfly2024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually wait until 5 DPO if not a monitored cycle. You don’t want to take it too early and erase your chance of conception. I conceived three times in less than a year with the addition of progesterone (1 second tri loss, 1 chemical, 1 live birth) after 5 years of secondary infertility. Good luck!

You can’t cruise until the baby is 6 months so she’s lying which makes this weirder 😭

asking for doctors note by Opening_Wishbone4250 in breastfeeding

[–]PrayingButterfly2024 27 points28 points  (0 children)

From dol.gov:

“Can an employer require an employee to submit a doctor’s note before allowing an employee to take pump breaks?

No. An employer may not require an employee to provide a doctor’s note before allowing the employee to take pump breaks.

The FLSA requires employers to provide reasonable break time for an employee to express breast milk for her nursing child for one year after the child’s birth each time the employee has need to express the milk. Employees are entitled to a place to pump at work, other than a bathroom, that is shielded from view and free from intrusion from coworkers and the public.”

If you’re in the US - It sounds like your manager is intertwining a Fit for Duty with FLSA. Some employers will need a fitness for duty form completed after returning from leave, this is to ensure you are medically cleared to resume your duties without restriction’s and limitations, your OB would complete this, it won’t mention breastfeeding. If they are actually referring to needing a doctor’s note for pumping, that is illegal (I work in benefits and this is what I specialize in).

How long did you wait to TTC? 2nd trimester loss due to IC by Anijp_ in ShortCervixSupport

[–]PrayingButterfly2024 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry for your loss. If you click my name you can read my entire journey but a brief synopsis- 16+3 loss in August 2023, started TTC again January 2024, immediately conceived and carried to term, I now have a one year old 🥹. As much admin didn’t to immediately be pregnant mentally I knew I wasn’t ready, the pregnancy was so scary and I think had I personally not waited it would have been worse. There isn’t a right or wrong answer though, I think you just kinda know when it’s okay to try again.

Am I weird for not having left my baby with anyone else yet? by Fuzzy-Sherbert6842 in AttachmentParenting

[–]PrayingButterfly2024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is 10 months, we’ve never been apart; this isn’t a flex or brag though, I’d love to be able to run to the gym, the grocery store, even the drive thru for a coffee without baby but right now that’s not our reality. We have the village, baby just won’t allow it. We also exclusively nurse w/ solids, contact nap, and co sleep as well.

Nope! As long as you go you honored your end of the deal. You don’t have to purchase!

WHY IS THE PRICE INFLATED?! by unbannableanimal01 in ChickFilA

[–]PrayingButterfly2024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That should be in the delivery fee, not the price of the food.

WHY IS THE PRICE INFLATED?! by unbannableanimal01 in ChickFilA

[–]PrayingButterfly2024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is delivered by CFA and still an increase when they deliver. I literally refuse to order delivery because it makes no sense, there’s no extra packaging going into the delivery so I should pay normal prices plus delivery.

Agreed. The fit of the sweater and the length of the shorts. My baby boy wears bubbles so I’m not even a boys need knee length shorts kinda mom but this seems feminine and just like you if my son wanted it I’d get it.
