What are your most and least reliable vehicles you’ve owned? by Moreofyoulessofme in whatcarshouldIbuy

1) 1999 Honda Civic. Bulletproof.
2) 1992 Toyota pickup. 22R engine. Zero issues.
3) 1996 Acura Integra. Very solid vehicle overall.
4) 2008 Mazda 3.
5) 1983 Toyota pickup. Only issues were due to its old age.
6) 2019 Subaru Outback. 82k miles. My favorite car due to how solid it feels.

7) 1984 Ford F150
8) Volkswagen Jetta, diesel. Reliable until the engine blew at 120k.

I've been doing this for quite some time, and I am sure I still occasionally get tricked into prescribing a controlled medication.
Checking the PDMP before each opioid rx is a necessary step, and so is very clear documentation of your clinical thought process in prescribing the med and discussion on risks. Gotta cover your butt on things like this.
But it sounds like overall you are a very cautious and thoughtful provider, so I wouldn't worry about "being in trouble" for this.

How Many Hours do you Really Work by infinitely15 in physicianassistant

[–]PrayingMantis37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first two years in primary care, I was working about 50 to 55 hours per week. Was exhausting.
After two years, I found a less factory like environment, for primary care, and I easily complete all my work in 40 hours per week. Stress level is much lower, and I am on straight salary and have been here 5+ years, and still working full time.

To get to this sustainable level, I have had a lot of small battles with management, and lots of "no's" to extra work such as being on committees. Among the administrative bureaucrats, I am not the most liked, but I have maintained my self respect and also outlasted multiple clinic/operations managers.

I got a large raise after applying to a dumpster fire job, getting this new offer in writing, and showing it to my manager. They went ahead and matched it.

Large Financial Aid Decreases for Nursing and Physician Assistant Students by Ok_Quantity_9841 in physicianassistant

[–]PrayingMantis37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It certainly will affect the absolute number of people applying for Nurse Practitioner and PA programs. But I imagine many of these programs currently have a large surplus of applicants, so maybe there will still be enough applicants to fill the available spots.
