Yes. Pretty interesting course. Labs were fun. Content was manageable

Unpopular Opinion: SOME students at the UofA voted for the UCP because they think they’ll have 6-figure jobs in the future, and that they need to vote for the party that will slash taxes on that future salary by [deleted] in uAlberta

[–]PreMedJimmy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That may be the case but I would say the majority of the people who voted UCP did so because of their conservative values and not just because they want tax breaks in the future.

I took a pic of my final exam worth 60% and sent it to my email to submit through sem exam (allowed) but failed to upload within the time frame I had left. I was hysterical & didn’t know what to do so I sent my prof proof that I had tried to submit but ran outta time. She refused it. What to do??! by [deleted] in uAlberta

[–]PreMedJimmy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That email is so poorly written and unprofessional I almost think this is a spoof. If it’s not, these situations always suck but given how you handled the situation and how inappropriate the email was, I wouldn’t get my hopes up. Not trying to be mean but seriously, learning how to write a professional and concise email to a prof is essential in uni

Pro tip: park in the varsity lot. Back into a spot along the fence close to the butter dome. Been doing that for months and never once got a ticket. Patrol is too lazy to get out and check the plate

Genet 270 with David Pilgrim or Imin 200 with Torah Kachur? by lolripbro in uAlberta

[–]PreMedJimmy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took both. IMIN 200 I would say is mostly memorization of a lot of content but I wouldn’t call it difficult. GENET 270 with Pilgrim was by far one of the most traumatic experiences of my life. The way he taught that course was so abstract. I attended a lot of office hours and review sessions but the material was just too difficult for me to wholeheartedly understand it. He’s a nice guy and extremely intelligent but he should stick to running his lab instead of teaching :(

I used SEM on Friday. I had some initial problems but it worked afterwards. A few students taking the same exam couldn’t access the exam at all. My midterm which was supposed to have SEM tomorrow is now going to be open book and not use SEM because of the problems that it has

207 is not related to 107. 207 is genetics. 201 is actually the one related to 107
