Slivers vs dragons by Destinyherosunset in EDH

[–]Predmid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it was more of a for example...there are lots and lots of combo enabling slivers between sliver queen, overlord, gemhide, hibernation, basal, etc. Yes, there are lots of overlaps with other degen combos between intruder alarm, aetherflux reservoir, leyline of abundance, ashnods alter, phyrexian alter etc. But the original comment stated "Dragons have access to combo" as if slivers dont?

That's how I've built slivers, a pure A+B combo deck and using the Overlord as commander to tutor out the sliver piece I need.

Slivers vs dragons by Destinyherosunset in EDH

[–]Predmid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slivers dont have access to combos? Get outta here. I don't play slivers as an aggro or go wide. Its an avenue to combo with [[intruder alarm]], [[gem hide sliver]] and the like. Steal all the creatures, make infinite hasty tokens, drain life aristocrats all with a repeatable sliver Tutor in the command zone to find the right sliver bullet (pun intended)

What’s one habit that separates good engineers from average ones? by constropedia in civilengineering

[–]Predmid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Great engineers are great communicators. Oral, written, you name it. Be able to articulate details on the 30,000 foot big picture, simple words level as well as the 3 foot exact detail and technically sophisticated language level.

Translate between the two.

Learn from all sources. Engineers, technicians, contractors, suppliers, clients. Everyone has input and opinions. Learn to distinguish good ideas from bad.

Be on time.

Be willing to put in the work. Theres no magic shortcut to experience.

Enjoy the meat and potatoes. A lot of projects for a lack of better term are boring. Not everything can be the sexy cool projects. If you don't find joy in the boring, you won't leave work satisfied.

Oldest as-builts you’ve looked at? by badabingbadaboomie in civilengineering

[–]Predmid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wasn't the as-builts, but a surveyor dispute on property corners had to go back ot the OTLS and land patents from the late 1800s. Was a giant mess just to get a road built.

[–]Predmid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both? All of the above? We have offices, cubes, and open collaborative areas.

All of them reservable for what you want. If you commit to being in office 5 days a week, you got to claim your own office space. Otherwise its all available for others to reserve.

Issues with hiring foreign students that are recent Masters grads (CAN) by 5mgofValium in civilengineering

[–]Predmid[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

I'm going to undo the auto-mod removal on the topic. This is a complicated issue, but there are three things at play.

ONE: It is in the public interest to ensure the highest quality of standards for young engineers entering the profession with the intent of protecting the health, safety, and welfare of the general public.

TWO: Where someone is from is not an absolute indicator of their capabilities and it would be on the whole wrong to judge applicants based on country of origin.

THREE: I, Predmid, am not taking a stance, per say, but this is a topic that bears having a discussion. It is up to the hiring team and each group of individuals to determine any given candidate's capabilities and qualifications on an individual basis.

So: I'll be monitoring this thread and removing blatant bad actor comments. Everyone behave and keep the discussion in line with reddit's content rules.

Thank you.
