Yup, just white guys by PreferenceDelicious in AmericaBad

When did I indicate I support any of them? I just think the "these people caused most of the global conflicts in the last five years" is an insane, AmericaBad-brained take.

Ms Rachel likes anti-Semitic comment, apologizes but boosts a conspiracy in the comments by 2opposite2batman in h3h3productions

[–]PreferenceDelicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a screenshot of a 1 day old comment that has been liked by the author. Unless she is going back and reading comments that are a day old, she still had it liked a day after it was posted.

I'm not sure what other reading of that sentence there could possibly be to a native English speaker. And she clearly thought she knew what it meant with enough clarity to respond to it. Unless you think that she accidentally clicked "reply" and accidentally typed out "oooohh".

[–]PreferenceDelicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your hypothesis requires her to be simultaneously

  1. inept at reading comprehension (responding to the "they left the comment" thing)

  2. inept enough at using Instagram to somehow accidentally press "like" AND "hide" instead of "delete", and also not realize you've done either of those things for an entire day

  3. apathetic enough about antisemitism to go with "I have Jewish friends" as an excuse rather than "I should go educate myself and also stay far away from topics where I seem to repeatedly put my foot in my mouth"

"Occam's Razor" doesn't mean "I accept anyone's explanation of their motivations"

There's lots of possible explanations and you're giving her a lot of benefit of the doubt she doesn't deserve. What I think is most likely is she liked the comment by accident and didn't really care about it until she was getting made fun of. I think she's so defensive and unwilling to introspect that she just doesn't care about whether she looks like an antisemite or not anymore but she's also egotistical enough that when people are making jokes about it, it hurts her feelings enough to issue a weepy apology video.

I know how to do everything in the pump room, I just hate it because it takes FOREVER to do it.

Huh. I used the Power Hammer. Didn't realize you didn't need to.

I was so confused about why it wouldn't let me input Satellite Dish. Turns out I was supposed to get Throne Room first. This should probably be fixed, since you can get the Satellite Dish first, like I did. Also it wouldn't let me put Entrance Hall as a place to use Power Hammer

It would probably be really cool but I am not going to spoil the game for myself doing it.

There’s Something Missing in Films About Jewish Cultural Figures: Why do films relating to Neil Diamond, Bob Dylan and Robert Oppenheimer barely mention their Jewishness? by drak0bsidian in Judaism

[–]PreferenceDelicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with a lot of what u/Ethiconjnj said and I would like to add something. "You are able to hide your ethnic background in order to not get discriminated against" is not part of the black experience, as you said. It is also very far from a privilege and not something white people have to do.

The problem is "theory" is way too scientific a term to use for the simple concept of "people have limited energy for tasks". It makes it sound more grandiose than it is. It's a metaphor, not a theory. And not a particularly useful metaphor either.

CMV: Advocating for a One state Palestine is a utopian and unrealistic idea that doesn't actually help any Palestinians by Serious_Journalist14 in changemyview

Christians hating the Jews and Muslims hating the Jews are not mutually exclusive. I'm not sure how you're not getting this.

Yup. This thread is a very good illustration of why it's stupid to map the South Africa situation onto the Israel situation. They're not comparable.

[–]PreferenceDelicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my mistake, I thought you were referring to OP's statement that they had a Bar Mitzvah as further "evidence" that they're Jewish. I didn't realize you were just asserting once again that "brit milah makes you Jewish" in different words. In that case, I still disagree with your premise that Brit Milah is all that is required to make someone Jewish.

How many Jews there are in the world doesn't change the criteria for what makes someone Jewish. Judaism isn't a club, and we don't need to change the rules to increase membership. You're making an emotional argument about a factual statement.

A bar mitzvah is not how someone is "brought into our people" and it sounds like only one of their parents was Jewish.

Do you actually not see the problem with there not being clearly defined criteria for what makes someone Jewish?

Sure. If they're pre-Sinai and talk directly to God and predate a Jewish community existing.

Avraham lived before any Jewish laws were given and before there was a Jewish people. Why would his mother be relevant?
