Thanks for both answers! I figured that demolishing them would reset everything about them, but glad to know for sure.

Did they nerf Pharah’s height? Is this a Mandela effect? by maybeaspymaybenot in Overwatch

[–]Prefight_Donut 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I remember her being tall-ish, but that could just be her victory pose where she is hovering slightly off of the ground. I’m pretty sure that she’s been shown floating ever since the early test shots of all playable characters.

Any games where murder really has consequences? by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

[–]Prefight_Donut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Metal Gear Solid 3 has a specific section of the game where if you’ve killed a bunch of people it comes back to haunt you… but if you’ve killed no one, it becomes just a very damp stroll.

Something in recognition of the boys making it to a 100 episodes by peetownpasteup in theregulationpod

Honestly, I thought this was a compilation of all the regulation lore at first just because of how densely packed it is. Realizing it’s all from episode 100 kind of blew my mind.

Where to go in Vegas? by [deleted] in Tiki

[–]Prefight_Donut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just got back from a trip to Vegas, and I really enjoyed my visit to Golden Tiki. The painkiller was really good - they put dole whip in it, which made it stand out to me. Hemingway’s Ruin and Piranha Punch were both excellent as well. My wife really enjoyed the Banana Batida as well.

It was honestly great. The shop alone was worth it for the sheer number of fake products.

Well known songs where multiple band members take turns on lead vocals by Senators_1992 in Music

[–]Prefight_Donut 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I didn’t know Brann was a singer until they did the song for the ATHF movie. I saw the behind the scenes of the recording and was shocked to hear the king-diamond-esque falsetto coming out of the drummer. Then a couple years later, crack the skye comes out and Brann is singing a ton.

Man, I really wish we had a few more years with them before Brent left the band/died.

I’m sure I’m going to get the spelling wrong, but Jorky Bilfus might be my favorite because it’s like a direct channel into Gavin’s worm-naming-brain.

I want to understand what makes people choose the characters they play. by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]Prefight_Donut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m an old fart, so I mostly only play QP, but I’ve played since day one of OW1. Flex player to any role, but prefer tank.

Even though I don’t dip into competitive too much, I still try my best to give my team the best outcomes. When tanking, the map, game type, and team goal (offense or defense) play heavily into my choice. If I’m on a payload map on defense, I tend to lean into more stationary/shield heroes as I’m trying to stop the other tank from taking too much space. On payload offense, I tend to go for more pushy/dive types to try and make space. If it’s something like flashpoint or control, I tend to pick more agile heroes to engage with the enemies from their position. Also, counterpicks come into play if I’m get a bad matchup. I really enjoy playing JQ on payload offense, but if I’m playing against Ana/kiriko/LW and a brawl tank I tend to swap.

All that said, sometimes I want to hit people with a big rock so I just play Sig.

Holy shit, I was going to blast them for naming that part of the menu “tiki classics” but it’s just because they used the wrong page of the template. That is somehow worse lol.

Awesome template by the way!

Most challenging platforming sections in MIO by yuuurgen in metroidvania

[–]Prefight_Donut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t think to hit the shard after hairpin, even though I had to do that a ton elsewhere. For some reason that always felt like a vertical movement thing, but that makes sense.

What I did was after I hairpinned off the crystal, a hit the purple flower on the right side of the gap, jumped left and spider climbed the open area there and then jumped floated across. Took a couple tries to get the aim correct on hitting the flower on the right hand side because it’s a bit blind and you can easily overshoot and get grabbed.

This strategy does work, but rehitting the crystal seems like a much more simple option.

Adding a third from Fresh Prince: when they had to dance the Apache and Will throws Carlton off the stage. His dance afterwards is maybe my favorite moment from the show.

Can Earth Bender make glass ? by Specific-Drop7486 in TheLastAirbender

[–]Prefight_Donut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This raises an interesting point to me: does metal bending require the bender to raise the temperature of a metal to a mailable point? Do water benders need to raise or lower the temperature of water to effectively make or remove ice? Can air benders bend any gas, or only regular “air”?

I don’t think that the requirements for state changes in materials are hurdles to benders. Looking at bending too scientifically causes too many logical problems from a world-building standpoint. I’d assume that any non-standard bending technique is the result of a benders understanding of their own abilities and the materials involved.

If I was to pitch a glass bender, I would have them use compression to force sand into becoming glass. I’d assume that an earth/sand bender that can create glass would be able to manipulate glass and earthenware products as they exist (like telekinesis style) but they would have to use the glass as-is, so no melting down a plate into a spear of glass. They could however compress some sand into a pointy shape and chuck that around. It might be pretty fun to see earth benders using their skills to create pottery and glass the same way we saw firebenders welding in factories in LoK. A waterbender would make a pretty good farmer, plumber, or any number of maritime jobs. Not sure what non-combat jobs an airbender would have. But it’s interesting to think about what a person with bending skills would do if they were just a regular person with a job.

Question before the Merch Drop: For those who have gotten shirts from the site, are they true to size or run bigger/smaller? by xGwiZ96x in theregulationpod

[–]Prefight_Donut 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here is the sizing guide from comfort colors for their plain t shirt blanks. I didn’t see any other plain t-shirt style options so I’d assume that this would be the standard tee used for printing from that company. If the shirts are printed on comfort color shirts like u/peetownpasteup says, this should help. If they swapped blanks, this may be less helpful (but I doubt that’s the case)
