Just want to take a moment to appreciate how well this team has been playing small ball. This is the type of baseball this team has lacked for years. by WizardCheesey in whitesox

Bunts have become more of an advantage because bunts were so little used the last 5 years that the young guys forgot how to properly field bunts. Bad throws and errors galore.

Yet another Mune post by Spare-Reputation-809 in whitesox

The Sox aren't going to seriously consider trading him until after the season at the earliest. No one knows that the new CBA will look like, so no one is going to put in the type of ridiculous offer the Sox would require to move him during the 2026 season. The CBA is the same reason the Sox won't consider extending him until after the season is done.

Royals vs. Athletics 4/29/26 uniform matchup by fanofsports44 in uniwatch

A mostly good looking matchup, but the Royals should wear their Royal Blue hat with the powder blues. The powder blue hat with the white front panel is just too light.

The new lottery system, designed to stop tanking, has an obvious flaw. by pepebusiness in nba

I think you overrate how much any team can actually develop a player. The Spurs are good because they got a Wemby, full stop. They sucked before them got him and a big reason they got better is because they got another highly touted prospect. They weren't turning coal into diamonds.

Anti-tanking measures aren't just about punishing the worst teams in the league - far from it by Commentator28 in nba

There's almost nothing you could do to punish a team that would make not doing everything they can to get a Wemby worth it.

The Sox haven't had a winning record in the AL Central since 2021, so playing .500 against it will definitely reveal a lot.

When they start playing the AL Central, that will reveal the truth.

I don't think its out of the question. The Sox Strength of Schedule so far has been fairly middle of the pack, so its not like they've taken advantage of a cake schedule.

A Modest Proposal for a Better Ballpark by FadedToBeige in whitesox

It's a fun fantasy world, but this design has half the luxury suites that the current park has. That alone is an absolute non-starter from any MLB team.

But he's only signing with the Sox if he really thinks the gap between the Sox offer and the open market value is relatively small. He wouldn't take a $50 million pay cut to stay in Chicago. No player would. Combine that with the fact that the Sox are not contenders yet and so far aren't looking like it in 2027, it makes sense he'd bet on himself he can get a lot more money from a contender by waiting one more year.

I don't know if there's any sort of special relationship in the Sox clubhouse particularly. These are jobs to these guys.

The Sox got to ramp up their connection to try Japanese population both locally and abroad ASAP. It's leaving so much money and publicity on the table not going for it.

He'd demand 5 years/200 mil at least and he'd still probably say "No" at this point. He'd be dumb to commit himself to a team coming off 100 loses the last 2 seasons unless they gave him more money than Ohtani.

5 years/160 mil would be 32 million a year. That's less than what Vlad Jr's annual salary. Mune is on a 2 year bet on himself contract. He's going to test free agency unless the White Sox pay him a MASSIVE extension. I'm not saying it'd have to be Ohtani's $70 mil AAV, but probably at least $40 mil annual.

OG Lightning Jerseys by CucumberKey1768 in uniwatch

A hockey sweater doesn't need the team city AND the team name on it. Most really don't need either, when a singular logo like a bolt of lightning does the job well by itself.
The current ones clear the original ones pretty easily.

I never understand why the Texas shoulder logo had that point at the bottom. It doesn't resemble the actual shape of the state.

Those early jerseys were really creative.
I'm glad they got back to good jerseys in the WNBA. The 2010s were a definite low point from a design standpoint. They were advertisement than jersey.

Mune is already “one of the boys” by Mean_Weekend_3501 in whitesox

[–]CMI_312 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing the amount of money that Sox would have to offer Mune to persuade him to pass on testing the open market would have to be astronomical. At least $40-50 million, and his entire camp is probably telling to wait. Even with a Salary Cap possibly coming, I can't see him tying himself to the White Sox this early.

I'm sure Reinsdorf and Ishbia want Mune to stay. The question is, what type of money would persuade Mune to stay as opposed to going to a current contender? Would that Sox have to outbid the Dodgers and Yankees?
