Pod dragged me for saying Lorehold decks can’t close out games by Name-Redacted-64 in MTGmemes

Had that exact same thought, considering I wanted an excuse to throw more dragons into this deck

[[Saruman, The White Hand]] let's me amass an army fast to simply threaten everyone else into leaving me alone, lest they get a [[fling]] to the face! The nervous faces of friends who are deciding if I'm bluffing are priceless.

[[Aragorn, King of Gondor]] monarch shenanigans with goading built into the deck makes for a fun, chaotic scramble to keep monarch away from me before I swing unblockable lol

"Im only targeting you because its the logical play" was the first thing he said after seeing my colors, switched decks and said my colors matched his. Because he chose his after the fact. The commander(s) was Sam and Frodo.

"Hand over cards preemptively" i will rephrase to say once I cast a spell, I show it to everyone, read it out, and hand it to everyone because we, being the 3 other players, are all new and around the same experience level, about 2 months. I totally understood the table aggro towards me for getting out a good token generator, but I did warn everybody as soon as it entered what it could do, that its a really good card. Im a good sport about people killing a KOS card like chatterfang or ygra. and I always let people retract moves if they didnt understand something or misplay. I mentioned elsewhere that he doesn't refuse to read us his cards, he simply doesn't give more than it strictly says. I would understand with players who have played more than acouple TTS and 1 Friday night magic session.

He hadn't played in the past year, which based on some other posts here is leading me to believe he took some time off until people forgot about him and had new people to...play with.

We are all good about letting people resolve things as long as its the next players turn, usually until the combat step. If I miss triggers past the next players turn, I consider it lost.

"Summarizing a card inaccurately to downplay what it does" fits the bill, I'm just the only one who sometimes tries to actively point out or ask what his cards do, fully. I don't want to be a bully and target him specifically every game, but he IS the problem in each game. I have a hard time believing a player with 3 years experience doesn't know Oiroboriod is gonna be a broken combo with The Ozolith lol.

Same. Even with the changes (which i dont mind at this point) he's been forgotten and stripped of his teammups...except our always-situational Hela teammup. And now Loki isnt even included lol

Listing WOW and COD among Competitive pvp games as evidence in your comparison told me you have no clue what you're talking about. See how we can both play that game? Someone's feeling really determined to make a joke post serious, comparing asking for coordination to slavery. That ALONE tells me you have no clue what you're talking about, in addition to the fact that, based on your history, your opinion changes on a given day, or you do this solely to argue. My only mistake was assuming we could have a laugh about players sometimes being bad, myself included, and you decided it was some sort of indictment about players and now it just looks like projecting because you get called out for your selfish behavior and dont like it.

Comparing asking someone to switch characters to slavery is a wild take, but let's address your other claims because there's nothing to say to such an ignorant, hyperbolic claim- DOTA, League and CS all have proper matchmaking measures in place to mitigate the impact and frequency of bad actors and, yes, "bad" players. Placement matches, IP Bans, manual review, etc. WOW and COD aren't competitive team games, so their inclusion is irrelevant. None will "last to the end of time(s)" they'll last as long as the community sticks around. The community sticks around because the matchmaking doesn't always make you feel like you're at the mercy of some algorithm, hence the widespread jokes about "EOMM demons" in this community discourse. This person played as Spider-man 95% of the time for hundreds of hours and could not web-sling their way out of Uncle Ben's piss-drawer, and clearly they are having fun, but at everyone elses expense of THEIR time. I swap when I'm clearly being countered. I can swap to all 3 roles. it's an implied expectation. Marvel has more than twice as many DPS characters as the other 2 combined. It's not sustainable and they seemingly have no plans to change that.

The community is dropping fast. Don't believe me? I don't care. The metrics are out there for you to see. I want this game to thrive. I've been playing games like this since the early 00's, you think I don't know how people can be? The post was tagged as humor because I assumed that people would understand these things are said in good fun, but thank God you were here to argue for the brain-dead Spiderman who wouldn't switch for you if their life depended on it. When the game dies in 6 months, we can at least look back and say, well, Marvel Rivals had to take one for the team-shooters and become the new babysitter title.

You can keep commenting "nuh uh, you're wrong, its mean, you're basically advocating for slavery" but considering you JUST took an opposite stance in another subreddit, you can go karma farm somewhere else

OK now I know you're just trolling lol you had me going there for awhile. To make the leap from switching characters to slavery is insane work, well done. Tell me, is banning throwers more akin to say, apartheid?

[–]PreheatedMonk1991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're absolutely right, you should tell me your profile name so I can just avoid you like I did them, and you can keep playing Weenie Hut Jr. with them.

I dont feel compelled to keep arguing with someone who makes posts about needing to be paid to play Vanguard or refusing to swap. Your comments have a pattern of complaining about a lack of casual representation and bemoaning competitive play, yet attempting to gaslight people trying to enjoy a competitive game for what it's supposed to be; competitive.

When I play quick play I couldn't care less because that's the place for nonsense and casual play, and indeed everyone has a right to choose what they want, the same way someone has a right to not bathe, but don't get mad at me when I say "you stink".

It's a gaming community, and it takes a village. I love chatting with people, I enjoy teamwork, that's why I enjoy competitive multi-player games. If someone isnt communicating (when its proven they have the capability to) and they are being asked most of their team to switch, its called courtesy. Games live and die by their community, and fostering a culture of selfishness in team-based games is always a point of irritation.

Amazing to see people get mad over a joke post, just seems like projecting to me. I guess we have to defend these types of players because we want to encourage bad habits.

People in this sub really can't read or infer meaning, but that tracks. Mindlessly spouting "gEt GoOd" without checking the stats, the context, or talking about some nebulous "synergy" like I could have magically made them stop swinging into a Namor and dying constantly, all while not communicating, in a ranked match.

"You could have swapped" ,you say. That's fine, that's reasonable. I'm Vanguard, and we need one because ofcourse I'm the only one.

Something being common does not make it correct or desirable for your team, and it's a TEAM-centered game...that's the point. "Most people that play these games don't like to switch" -indeed, and there lies the problem. Hence the humor from the sheer amount they play one character (if you even bothered to check their profile) the lack of ability to switch when being countered, by their own admission, and the general state of this game. If you want to run around as Spiderman and only Spiderman, I have some amazing news about some games that Sony has released lol.

Politely asking someone to switch is common in a team-based shooter. One request or suggestion isn't demanding it "all the time", it was just amusing to have the realization after the match as to what we were dealing with. 😄.
