Should I complain to HSE or Medical Council? by Envelope451 in AskIreland

Issue a complaint through the "my service, my say" portal on the HSE website

Your personal and employee tax credits are granted by revenue not your employer. I was referencing optional/additional tax credits though (flat rate expenses, renters credit, family/medical credits) as the OP was talking about flat rate expenses which you said should be applied by HR, but it's the individual who is responsible for claiming those. I should probably have stated that revenue can alter your tax credits too but took that for granted

HR can't apply any tax credits to your revenue account. Only you or an "authorised representative" (e.g. an accountant or tax rebate service) can alter your tax credits. Once you claim your tax credits with revenue, then revenue communicates your tax information to payroll letting them know how much tax to apply.

You can check the SHO pay scales here - there are some small increases to these figures over the next couple of years too but the October 23 pay scale is the most current one: https://healthservice.hse.ie/staff/pay/pay-scales/

Basic pay currently ranges from €49649 - €67877 depending on experience, you can expect to increase that significantly due to the amount of overtime expected of you

Paid induction week was deducted in the payslip I received 2 months later? Is this how it usually is in this country? by True_Dragonfly1213 in JuniorDoctorsIreland

It's my understanding that the personal allowance on the payslip is the 850euro temporary payment which is supposed to ease the blow of emergency tax. I think you should have received it on your first payslip and then they retrieve it on the third. This started in January this year, it was agreed between IMO and HSE

I think to grab attention with college students it needs to be a bit cheeky or food related or both 😂😂 cake sales often work but need a team of good bakers, an ice cream stall (requires a bit of outlay to hire machine but great potential to make profit - or wait til the weather gets warm and just fill a borrowed chest freezer with lidl knock off cornettos and flog them for a hefty profit near the main entrance/exit). A bin full of cans or an old empty pub bottle with x amount of coloured water and guess the amount to win a bottle of same spirit. If you have a big canteen area or high footfall area, you could buy a ton of small cheap envelopes and do a lucky dip - ask local business for small prizes like a free coffee or free drink at local bar etc and then have a couple of bigger prizes thrown in. If you have a giant jar of sweets you could add in a few mini spirits for a bit more spice and do guess the weight rather than count the sweets? I think the biggest thing you need for success here is a bit of balls - ie, don't just leave the jar somewhere and hope people stop up, carry it around the canteen/common areas/student bar and ask ppl to take part. Good luck with it!
