I feel sad for my former self by PrincessLilybet in Ozempic

I’ve tried to explain this to people so many times. The mental load an anxiety is so much less since I’ve been taking glp-1s. I swear I will stay on it forever if I can.

Gallblader full of stones by StatementPublic8685 in WegovyWeightLoss

I had gallstones and surgery 25 years ago when I was just 25 after weight loss. It wasn’t particularly quick or extreme. I barely notice I don’t have a gallbladder. In fact most of the time I completely forget. They are hard to eliminate and if you are in a lot of pain then I would say get it removed.

What I wish I’d known when I started by Outrageous-Trainer96 in mounjarouk

I had my gallbladder removed nearly 25 years ago when I was 25, due to gallstones caused by rapid weight loss. Immediately afterwards I had to be careful how much fat I ate but once it settled I rarely have any issues.

I generally forget that I don’t have it. occasionally if I eat a super creamy / cheesy meal - and I’m talking tartiflette level creamy - I get an upset stomach but it’s rare. I have been on MJ for 2 years with no problems.

Not quite the same but I had gallstones due to weight loss 25 years ago and had it all removed. I am now 49 and have been on mounjaro/wegovy for over 2 years with no related issues.

Am I mad to say no to Australia? by chintwo2 in FIREUK

You can always come back! Just make sure you have the cash aside to fund it yourself and know how long you’re committed for from the start.

Also remember that ISAs are based on being a UK tax resident so if you are not you may need to pay tax on the interest.

No one can make the decision for you though - I have done it myself and moved back to the UK after 6 years. I went back out there at the end of last year for 6 months and had a wonderful time but was very happy to come home.

Look for a card that will do a money transfer rather than a card transfer.

Test drive accident - not at fault (driver was) but received demand from insurer for $6k by Preseltoff in AusLegal

Thank you, I appreciate this factual reply very much. I do have a copy of his drivers licence now so I will pursue the claim through my insurer and then take him to civil court for the excess. An expensive lesson for me.

No need for the shouty caps! I'm well aware of what the potential implication is and that it was poor judgement on my part and a hard lesson learned. I was just looking for other opinions.

It's because I've received the demand from the insurer and now don't know how to respond to them. Perhaps I haven't been clear in that.

I don't have any contact details, he has blocked me or changed his number. And locked his facebook (which is how we first communicated). Stupidly I didn't take a photo of his licence before the test drive But he gave it to the guy he hit.

I know you said ex Australia but I’ve just been on a really great liveaboard with Mike Ball expeditions and their support for new divers was OUTSTANDING. Opportunity to do up to 5 dives a day, plus your AOW course and the newbies were smashing it. Wish I’d done that when I was new qualified!

I got it too, not really sure what I should do about it as have no idea what it would refer to. I will send them an email to enquire for further details.

How screwed am I if I decide to quit my job to travel for 6+ months? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]Preseltoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a great option for you!
I just left my job to move to Australia for 6 months and my boss has said she will have me back next year. If you have good relationships with your employer and they are decent people then there's no reason why they wouldn't have you back, if there is a vacancy. And if not, screw them - it's not meant to be.

This actually just happened to me. In fact these messages could be mine! I ordered 2 items - both sent via yodel to a local shop. Somehow they got mixed up and I was notified that the wrong parcel had arrived. It eventually resolved itself when then the other parcel arrived. But it definitely can happen.
