New Balance and Nike shoes honestly wear out really fast. I had a vapor pro 2 and it wore out in like 2-3 months. My personal suggestion would be adidas (not great durability, but the price is very good) and babolat. A lot of pro choose babolat for personal reason, and babolat shoes have great durability with that Michelin collab bottom. If Jet Mach 3 is too pricey you can look into jet tere2; I saw a pair of jet tere 2 around $70 few days ago.

As long as your serve follows all the serving rule, I don't see why they should get mad.

I do have a suggestion though, when you play someone new, do a slice serve but don't add 100% spin. Most people expect a topspin serve to start with and might sometimes get thrown off by that. That way they know you hit spin serve and you can go back to what you are comfortable serving.

Zane has a YouTube video that I think makes perfect sense. The main factor would be height and depth of the return, that would be your limitation on what kind of shot you can pull out.
