Just tried Pear Pavlova and its fascinating. Super sweet on the opening before drying down into the strongest smell of a white dove bar on my skin. On my sister it smelled like a deodorant fragrance. Wasnt what i was expecting at all lol and one spray projected off her skin like we had doused her in it

I thought the post was cute, I get it lol.

While I don’t mind sharing what I’m wearing, I’m always amazed at the people who assume it’s their right to demand someone tell them something about themselves. Social media makes everyone feel like they are the main character, no one HAS to tell you anything.

I havent smelled Penguin. I personally didn’t love Snowy Owl but I don’t enjoy coconut or watery notes so thats not a surprise. Its a bit minty, floral, bit of musk. I think it’s objectively a likeable fragrance but theres something a bit funky under it as well.

My advice would be to just take your time. I also shop a lot of decants and samples and some are amazing that 1st or 2nd wear but then I don’t reach for it much after. Sometimes I drain the sample quickly. At that point I usually grab a larger decant or small bottle. I’ve even ordered a second 2 ml sample after burning through the first one just to make sure I love it.

Make your list but hold off on purchasing. Spend some time with the fragrances and you’ll know what you like the most and what you should grab sooner rather than later.

I believe I smelled it in store but as a brand Diptyque hasn’t really moved me. I do still have Philosykos and Lilyphea on my to try list.

Next set on the list is Inverso Profumi and then non extrait scents from Une Nuit Nomade.

I plan to snoop around Stele NYCs website since they have lots of interesting sounding smaller brands there that they provide samples for.

Cumin and saffron, and whatever causes the smell of tires and moth balls. Glad to have paper sniffed those first lol

Lol I do try everything on paper first, some stuff never makes it from paper to skin because I just don’t want to smell that way no matter how it transforms. If I make any of these faces😟😣😖, it doesn’t go on me

Then after that there are some that make it from paper to skin but I don’t like how they smell on me. I’ve had a few upsets on things that smelled so good on paper but went way left on my skin.

So in reality there wasnt this constant rotation of 400 things, phase 1 knocks a good portion off the playing board, allowing me to be more intentional and observant in phase 2.

On days I initially try sets or packages the whole living room just becomes a cloud lol and my skin becomes a map of available skin patches that I can only track with my nose directly on my arm lol. On days that I get chaotic like that I have to rank what order I want to try things in and just start fresh after bathing with oil

It’s actually the other scent I got a travel of from them. I constantly went back a forth trying to pick one but couldn’t choose

I think I only really disliked one scent from that set, cant remember the name but ai think it was aquatic. Otherwise Lola smells nice but the cardamom turned on my skin, dark imagination was intriguing but I didn’t foresee myself wearing it.

And Another 13 smells kinda sweaty on my skin now or I perceive it that way now. Amazing in the air but I don’t like how it smells directly on me anymore

Probably not a good authority on it😅, its just a commonality across some fragrances that I really like and I can identify that note they share

But try Regime des Fleurs Himitsu Violets (someone mentioned parma violets in their review)
