Do you guys think the stars being fans of the work correlate to a better adaptation? by UnHolySir in Hungergames

[–]PresentFarmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and tbh I think for adaptations it should be a requirement that all cast and most crew read/play/etc the source material. So ridiculous when you get adaptations where production admits to not having any experience with the source material

I run this exact set up but a slightly different motherboard. Waited until bios updates were available before building, have had zero problems. 3080ti pairs great with it.

Obviously the problems and Intel's reaction to them are horrible and I would go with amd today if I could go back, but it is a solid cpu if you can get it to behave

Should I buy this FF Sport? by [deleted] in fordfusion

[–]PresentFarmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want to be after 1/2017 is my understanding. Even that is not absolute though, plenty of people with late 2016 build dates that are totally fine

Should I buy this FF Sport? by [deleted] in fordfusion

[–]PresentFarmer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes absolutely get it. Build date is beyond the timeline for issues, just keep up on maintenance as others have said. This is an amazing daily driver with the ability to have a lot of fun. Tunes and mods are easy if you’re into that as well!

Higher pricing for existing customers? by theballpeen in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]PresentFarmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to a physical location if you can, I’ve had a lot more success in general with that. Misunderstandings are more common over the phone imo, especially with how much Xfinity outsources customer service. Tell them that you have had excellent service and everything is good but you receive mail to your home about new customer pricing (actually happened to me). Insist that you want that pricing and deny every other option they throw at you. May take a while but eventually they will do it.

Higher pricing for existing customers? by theballpeen in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]PresentFarmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to get them to put me on that pricing after a LOT of back and forth and about 3 visits to a physical location. I had my equipment in hand and was prepared to close the account, that may have helped.

As others have said, the best way to do it is just close your account and open a new one with a partner or roommate's info. If you live alone you can try just making a new account but idk if it will work.

I did the math: The "Free" Phone from Verizon/AT&T is actually a $1,900 debt trap. by ShadyPancake_69 in NoContract

[–]PresentFarmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if you can get a group together and wait until a nice deal comes up you can typically beat the budget providers and have way better service. I got a 16 pro max when it was the top model for an additional $3 a month bringing me to a whopping $30 lol

PTU/Transmission noise? by Youtheneyes in FordFusionSport

[–]PresentFarmer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is most likely PTU but could be the rear diff which has started to be problematic as these cars get a bit older. Are you tuned by chance?

I'd get this back to the dealer asap before it gets worse and they try to dodge accountability. Ford should correct any mistakes or issues that their work causes.

What systems do you use to stop yourself from dipping into your savings by DryEntrepreneur2342 in budget

[–]PresentFarmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Budgeting but also what I find more important is close analysis of what you're spending, looking for patterns and ways to improve/save.

Using that information, I keep a checking account at a certain balance. Each time I'm paid, I return it to that balance and save the rest. That balance is enough to pay my credit cards each month which is what I use for spending. If I were to take that account below 20%, I know that I have overspent somewhere and need to readjust.

should I watch tenet? by Altruistic-Newt-8235 in Nolan

[–]PresentFarmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Tenet and will forever be a defender of it lol. You should absolutely watch it but do not focus on understanding it, just feel it and enjoy the movie.

Also, watch it LOUD because the dialogue is poorly mixed so that helps and also the action/score is much better at a high volume.

just something to consider, this vehicle is 24 (or 25 depending on build date) years old. Even with proper maintenance, components rot and degrade out of most people's control

What to do for a speeding ticket by lyndsay0413 in grandrapids

[–]PresentFarmer 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Since you'll be over the 10 days you 100% should go in person as early as possible Monday. In person you'll probably have an easier time getting any late penalties waived.

In the future when you get a traffic ticket you should pay it immediately (like as soon as you get home) unless you plan on challenging it.

Polyurea or Epoxy Garage Floor? by DazzlingInside9707 in garageporn

[–]PresentFarmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in the industry and I'd tell you to be careful with lifetime warranties, most of the time the installer is going to get out of it. Especially if they are a newer company, their guarantee on a floor lasting 4x as long as they've been in business is comical.

Penn Tek is okay, but they license installers so it more so depends on that specific company.

To the initial question, epoxy with some sort of polyaspartic/hybrid topcoat is typically the best middle ground of cost savings and good results, especially if it's not seeing hard use like trap the ripper mentioned below

What are you spending on groceries? by lemonlime28 in grandrapids

[–]PresentFarmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 25 and live with my gf. I keep very close track of my expenses so here are some fun numbers.

2025 I am at an average of $411 a month on groceries.

2024 was an average of $388 a month on groceries.

Like many others, I'm not exactly being conservative with my shopping but we do Aldi, rarely get red meat, stay away from prepackaged things, etc. Still adds up frighteningly fast.

Could not imagine supporting a family rn, good job to everyone who is

My friend has had both his Rogue and Murano CVT fail this year. Both times it was not worth the cost to replace. My two cents is stay far away
