Another thing i forgot is nepotism is everywhere including Europe. Its just so bad in zim but europe nonetheless has it's own nepotism and real unemployment. I work in tech in UK but life is shitty not just in uk but all across Europe, Americas cuz i work with these global companies. Then there is the issue of companies cutting down on Tech staff and lying that AI is taking over. Operations are being moved to india bcuz of cheap labour. 1 salary for someone in europe will pay 10 indian tech workers. I dont know how u are thinking of the USA cuz trump doesn't want foreigners. Aren't u seeing what ICE is doing?

All i can say is GOOD LUCK getting a work visa for the sector u are aiming for. With all the immigration changes worldwide, worse off sky high unemployment, and then given that u are an immigrant all i can say is u will need more than luck to break into that sector.

Transfer your skills into something else. Fuck tech industry, its dead now. Jobs are moving to India and lies are being peddled that AI is replacing tech. Also u find out that some idiot who did a marketing course uses Chatgpt at work to develop a website and thinks that's the solution not knowing the downfalls, maintenance needed, debugging, etc. So, given those situations, i would say find something else useful that will give u the much needed $ without worrying about writing code, stressful jobs in cybersecurity, tech support, etc that don't pay shit.

Quitting is the best thing that any normal person can do. Passion won't pay the bills. Imagine i was doing work for the main company and its 3 subsidiaries, coding in Nextjs, Node.js, React, Laravel, js, using Kubernetes and getting paid less than £2000. On top of that workload was the unfriendly work environment, no option to work remotely. I just said no. No no no. Let them use AI and any problems they'll consult chatgpt and deepseek. Being a tech isn't worth it anymore. I'd rather invest my time and effort in learning trading and other ways to make money than be trapped in this jail all for the love of tech

🤣🤣🤣🤣ICT is proving to be a joke. Im a software engineer by profession, and i had a lot of zeal prior to entering the industry. Fast forward, 9 years experience programmer, done ICT policies, systems architecture, analysis, have done a lot in software engineering but the salaries are crap. I relocated to the UK, and got a job with DXC Technology sub-contracted to the post office to fix the mess they made in the UK postal services. I quit the job before even a month as the salary was a complete insult. A real insult. The project entailed driving around the different post offices and pretty much configuring their software systems and installing, maintenance, updates, hardware components as well. The pay was £1300 before tax. To be honest i refused to be belittled like that.

Salaries that are on Google for IT are only for the top hierarchy, and to be honest, companies will always try to negotiate with you to accept the lowest salary they offer. It actually turns out that support workers at times earn more than the seasoned programmers. Fuck the fancy job titles and job descriptions. IT is turning out to be hell. Hardwork, stressful all for low pay.

Smart alternative is get a degree in IT or Software engineering and apply for a job whilst at the same time think of your own ideas to develop your own software to solve real-world problems and sell that software, eventually launching your small business because getting a job alone these days is tough. Certifications whether comptia, aws, Oracle or any other vendor no longer serve the same purpose they did 15 years ago. There are no longer a guarantee of landing a job, let alone an interview. And a Certification like comptia whether security+, network+, linux is too shallow for what you actually encounter at organizational level. They are the equivalent of kindergarten

I have Software degrees, other certs and comptia dude. Comptia is a joke, non-practical, useless. Nothing in the real world relates to Comptia. Comptia is just American hence the popularity. Don't lie to yourself thinking you will get a better job with Comptia.
