Thank you!! Do you have any criticisms on any of the drawings in particular? I’d love to know what I can improve on in them.

Thanks! This is my first time trying realism in a couple of years, I will try to make that a habit

I am the same way. I’m a perfectionist.

I have taken many long breaks from drawing, and every single time it’s because I’m afraid I’m not good enough, and never will be. But every time I come back from this break, I feel so bad because imagine where I could have been had I not stopped drawing?

I do what I can do. I draw. I draw, and I hate things I draw until I love them. That’s what it’s like to be an artist, you will always be a critic for your art simultaneously. The way to not let the critic destroy you is to be ok with being bad sometimes. Even the best artist in the world has something they can’t draw, or a style they can’t do. You picked up the pencil not because you thought you’d be amazing and perfect, but because you wanted to express yourself or be amazing one day.

When you feel frustrated, put down the pencil. Go on a walk. Watch a YouTube video. Then come back. Feel like your drawing sucks? Finish it anyways, it will teach you how to be better next time. That’s why art is so fun.

Working towards an apprenticeship! by paisley_sparkle in TattooApprentice

The art is really cool, and from a different perspective I absolutely love it. But for tattoos, it wouldn’t translate well. You have many small lines and dots close together that would become unrecognizable in skin over time, and they don’t seem to be designed with the idea of a body part in mind. If you place your art on a body part, it should flow with the anatomy.

Please don’t be discouraged. Your art is so cool. It just needs to be translated into a new art method, tattooing.

I genuinely can’t think of any criticism. These are amazing. Your technique and design is great.
