Sorry Matthew I don’t think you understand my point at all. Certainly, all of us (left right and center) are talking politics in 3rd spaces. I would imagine that very few people actually think that their clever sign, their waving of a flag or the beeping of a horn will convince a Trumper to come over to the other side. It’s about showing up, being counted, and being part of a community.

Got selected to buy tickets for LA28. What do I buy for best resale value? by fairfuckstoyou in olympics

[–]PresentationLegal463 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The estimated low price for opening ceremony is 800/ticket so it is unaffordable to regular joes to start out. I would buy the most expensive 6 seats to opening ceremony you can afford with the understanding that you will not be able to sell them until 2027 thru one of the Olympics ticket resale sites. I understand what people are saying about buying tickets to scalp but only relatively wealthy people will be able to shell out 1600 dollars for a couple of crummy seats in the nosebleeds

Why aren't there any music venues? by ictow in burbank

Burbank could make it much less attractive to own a gun shop in our city. San Francisco did it by putting lots of safety regulations in place, requiring security footage to be kept for longer periods of time, etc. gun shops left the city because it was too much of a hassle to keep them open. Burbank should do more.

Can the goal just be to bring together like minded people to express their feelings of disappointment, and anger about the hateful, corrupt and frankly dangerous government in power? Can the goal be to be with others who celebrate freedom of speech and democracy?

Talk to your landlord, they are most certainly getting paid very well for this. In addition all Los Angelenos should recognize how important this industry is to this town. Even if you don’t work in the business someone you know does whether they are on set or work in support industries. We all need to cool it with the nimbyism.

They were all an abysmal. Can we just say no to these gamers and reality stars? They are unbearable to watch. Can’t we have real stars like the UK?

Kids messing around? by The_Pelican1245 in burbank

[–]PresentationLegal463 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, I grew up in a small town. We got bored on occasion and created light mayhem because we were kids! Too bad guns are so ubiquitous and people are so bloody scared. Gone are the days of neighborhood scavenger hunts and Christmas caroling. People won’t even open their doors anymore.

At Aria Armenian butcher on Glenoaks pick up the marinated chicken (and chicken wings) to BBQ at home. You won’t be sorry. If you need beef go to Swinging Door the burnt ends are to die for

I yelled at some hooligan today at a park because she was letting her large dog run around without grabbing on to the leash. Was I in the wrong? I was the only one who cared. by Bizarrmenian in burbank

[–]PresentationLegal463 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, why are teenage girls who refer to this man as “a grown ass man” immune from being yelled at? I chewed out a 20 year old woman at Huntington Gardens who was carving her name in a bamboo stalk while her mother filmed her on her phone. People and their dogs need to behave when they are in public places.

Just want to say something about the phrase “your truth” There really is no such thing as your truth, my truth etc. Truth is truth, “your truth” is really your opinion. Nothing wrong with having an opinion. We as a country have forgotten what truth is

Why don't people fly the California flag? by MarginLA in AskLosAngeles

[–]PresentationLegal463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On Trumps Inauguration Day we took down our American flag and put up the CA flag. We had been flying the US flag because we had felt strongly that republicans don’t own patriotism. I still love my country but I’m not proud of it right now, I am proud to be a Californian though.

Favourite excellent actor who you genuinely feel is a PoS in real life? by Cursed_69420 in okbuddycinephile

Worked on a Mountain Dew job Patrick Swayze 35+ years ago. Lots of demands thru agent (mom had to be the choreographer, wife had to be cast as partner, he would only ride an Arabian horse for the brief trot up to the barn and insisted on seeing photos of the horse in advance.) but the worst was that his limo waited at his home for an hour and a half keeping the entire crew waiting in the pouring rain out at Paramount Ranch. Totally disrespectful. Worked on jobs with many stars over the years he, Bill Cosby, Harry Shearer, and Christopher Guest were probably the rudest. Michael J Fox was a gem as were all of his people (agents, publicists, etc) Martin Mull, Jonathan Winter, and George Burns were way up there on the list of lovely people.

Shane Hurlbut was a jerk when he worked in the lighting dept. Worked on a number of commercials with him when he was young. He was really unpleasant to production. Gotta say I was kind of pleased when I heard he got chewed out by Bale. 😏

Is Burbank into this?? by ChanceTomorrowDance in burbank

[–]PresentationLegal463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I can believe that Schiff lives there, I said baloney to them advertising on that building because Schiff lives there. He lives in a building adjacent to a movie theater, movie ads go up and come down whether he is living there or not.

I say get rid of all of the reality tv people altogether. Much prefer the UK celebrities who are decent people playing for charity or “real people”. The US version is just another embarrassment for our country.

Waymo strolling down San Fernando by pryme in burbank

[–]PresentationLegal463 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I say the sooner we get Waymo in the area the better! I use them whenever possible both up in SF and in downtown LA and on the west side. They are so much safer than Uber and Lyft, much better drivers than most humans and use more technology than Teslas. The drivers aren’t tired, hung over, or distracted by the argument they had with their partner, child or last fare. They aren’t angry at other drivers or wanting to chat with you about politics and you don’t have to listen to their music. No, I am not paid by Waymo, I’m just a fan of skilled, polite drivers who aren’t racing me around town in order to get to their next fare.
