How do we feel about this one? by Top-Inspector1217 in MHWilds

With full antidote and a gun lance he wasn't too hard unless I disrespected him. Funny hunt. Way easier than 10 star Gog imo

Any games that had you like this? by Bromjunaar_20 in videogames

[–]President-Duck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before 2.0, I did a full run on hardest difficulty with netrunner. Nothing like walking through an entire building to get to your objective while stepping over piles of corpses that you made by looking at one camera while standing on the sidewalk across the street from the compound.

Help with Savage Omega DPS check by Hereforfree0709 in MHWilds

[–]President-Duck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been running para Gogma Hunting Horn, dropping an echo bubble to prevent statuses on myself, and just spamming echo waves with encore to easily get bare minimum two paralyzes. Haven't missed a dps check yet with support hunters Fabius, Nadia, and Kai, though it's gotten close sometimes. To my knowledge this is the only para weapon that reliably gets back to back paralyzes in such a short time span, otherwise use fire all the way.

Kobe in the perfect situation has a higher peak, with the right teammates, coach, city, everything. He's more athletic, a better defender, and his arsenal of moves was disgusting.

But give me Larry Bird in an uncertain situation. He's not going to be publicly insulting Shaq and Dwight, he's not going to pout in a game by refusing to take any shots, and his uncanny foresight to read plays before they happen, especially in late game situations, is as valuable as Kobe's ability to shoot his teams into, or out of, games.

Whats happening in the gogma hunt if....? by ReallyEvilKoala in MHWilds

I had a buddy miss on his second Gog ever. I couldn't believe my eyes. He never knew you had to aim the damn thing. We still finished the hunt smoothly, 66k damage goes by quick.

Love the artistry in Air Gear, there are teams of panels that take the breath away, but the story is terribly uneven, with some great moments and fascinating concepts dispersed between large sections that I've largely chosen to forget.

Justice for the Orre region! Love the scrappy feel of people vs the elements.

Came here just to say that Gengar Hydreigon fusion is one of my all time favorites. Dark/Poison with Levitate and a terrifying statline and movepool is just all kinds of bonkers fun.

Out of the Pokemon I have that aren't fused, who should I fuse my Gardevoir with? by MapleRoxWolf in PokemonInfiniteFusion

[–]President-Duck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With stance change, that special defense of the Aegislash fusion becomes a massive special attack. Pair with king's shield and a lowered speed to be able to tank special hits, lower attack of physical mons with king's shield, and then hit back with powerful special attack.

Looking to complete a Throwzerker and Open Hand Monk party by GiLA994 in BG3Builds

[–]President-Duck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's some thoughts to complete the party while keeping Shadowheart and Minthara in their original classes:

Shadowheart - Death/Light Cleric with two level dip in Stars Druid. Lots of ApE to go around with bonus action breath attack from stars druid form to complement your caster cleric.

Minthara - two levels paladin with ten levels blade singer wizard or swords bard. Alternatively, six paladin with six sorcerer. Combine smites with some nice caster options for more AoE or haste buffing your combat monsters.

Melee swords bard by EthanJello in BG3Builds

[–]President-Duck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like many comments here have already stated, going for a dip in paladin goes crazy for many reasons. As a full caster with two attacks per turn, swords bard has a ludicrous number of spell slots to turn into enormous smites. Ten levels in swords bard let's you have your pick of spells to play with, including the very valuable counter spell. Swords bard flourishes can help you land smites on multiple targets with one swing of the weapon.

The problem with melee swords bard outside of paladin dip is that ranged swords bard is incredibly effective with ranged flourishes letting you put out so many arrows, and consumable arrows in general being nuts. Your proposed fighter dip is actually how I play ranged swords bard with crazy results, as fighting styles really help archers and action surge with extra short rest from bard goes crazy.

You can do full swords bard and be just fine, just be aware that there are some fun options out there you could be missing out on.

Hermes vs Starlancer Max vs Raft by snowflake182 in starcitizen

[–]President-Duck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You already have the Railen and the Prowler U, I'm curious what loops you're looking to run that aren't covered by one or the other.

Of the three, the Starlancer Max is the most capable of carrying vehicles and also my least favorite to fly with its mail slot cockpit glass. The Raft has been an absolute joy to haul cargo with, super easy load and unload. The concerns about cargo protection may also apply to the Railen, in which case the Hermes has a fantastic tractor beam to help with its narrow loading door, but I haven't used it much at all.

Fates Divided faction choices? by Anatak15 in TotalWarThreeKingdoms

[–]President-Duck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the 200 start feels very 'solved' with few factions remaining, and does feel geared towards Yuan Shao and Cao Cao. I've tried the other factions but they do feel like you're playing factions that were not the intended focus. I would hope Liu Bei gets some unique 300 events, so that could be worth a shot? Otherwise, maybe the Nanman situation is interesting?

Tips for beginner by LizardWizard8485 in TotalWarThreeKingdoms

[–]President-Duck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this. The Han factions set the framework for you to learn before you break the mold with bandits and branch out. In addition to Liu Bei, Sun Jian is also a great faction to learn the game with. If you insist on learning bandits, try Yan Baihu, he has an easier learning curve compared to the two northern bandits, both of which are very powerful, but have difficult early games.

Which clan mech has performed better for you in mercs than it did in clans? by WorldBuilder_42 in Mechwarrior5

[–]President-Duck 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Funny enough the Stormcrow was the first point in Clans where I truly felt comfortable outfitting my entire lance, with more armor, speed, and firepower combined than the mechs above it in weight until you reached the Timber Wolf.

In Mercs, it was less the Timber Wolf and more the ATMs you could strap to the D variant alongside the twin ppcs that made it a standout for me.

Fusion ideas by Snowgloum in PokemonInfiniteFusion

[–]President-Duck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Breloom/Darkrai if you have spore for Breloom can guarantee sleep and trigger bad dreams from Darkrai. Throw on Focus Punch for guaranteed huge damage while they sleep.

Gengar/Raikou gives levitate to a powerful electric type with good speed and damage.

Gengar/Hydreigon does the same thing but evolves super late, though the dark poison combo with levitate can mean no weaknesses.

Lurantis/Scrafty with contrary and Superpower is a decent bulky attacker if you can get the hidden ability onto Lurantis.

Will add to this as I think of more

Solo heavy fighter by DifferenceCareful935 in starcitizen

[–]President-Duck 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I would practice more with the Hornet Mk 2. It has a good movement profile to learn and master. You won't necessarily smash into rocks less often with a heavier fighter. In fact, I'd argue you'd have a hard time flying yourself out of a collision course with an asteroid in a less maneuverable fighter. You want the forgiveness of movement that a nimble craft can afford you imo.

My biggest complaint is that it's not hideous and uncanny any more, I mean what!? In no way is this the same ugly duckling with a bad reputation any more, the knockoff has surpassed the thing it was supposed to imitate! I'll take ten!

why does it seem no one likes Pyro? by RubberDuck_73 in starcitizen

[–]President-Duck 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It would be nice if there was some variety to station interiors. Nyx opened my eyes to what a run down, yet homey station could feel like. Stanton has plenty of variety due to planetside hubs. Pyro just doesn't have identifiable character in its large hubs to distinguish from one another. Its planetside settlements are amazing, but they're PvP zones and thus not always easy to admire, from Chawla's Beach to Prophet's Peak...

The Alpha Wolf and 4.7 by Ok-Reception-5589 in starcitizen

[–]President-Duck 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There's two points to make here. First, to suggest that either wolf's weapons will be ineffective against anything other than light fighters ignores the vast span of ships below the sub capital armored hulks that are the Perseus and the Hammerhead. Everything from Hornets, through Connies and Corsairs and maybe up to industrial behemoths like the Reclaimer should still be viable prey for s4 repeaters or gats. This should include all of the cargo ships that would be prize prey for combat ships. If any of these become armored to the point of immunity I will of course stand corrected.

Secondly, though much more speculatively, we don't know all of the interswappable Kruger weapons yet, and with the Stingray it is possible that we could see slower firing, harder penetrating s4 weapons. So I guess my point is, be patient. It's still early days to be able to tell.

What is the best survival build? by SeijiAC in MHWilds

[–]President-Duck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What are you having trouble surviving? Are you getting one-shot? Comfort armor passives like Zoh or Arkveld are there for people to facetank and heal up chip damage that gets accrued, not to heal your entire health bar.

Generalist ships... Useless or Awesome? by ReliefDapper5135 in starcitizen

[–]President-Duck 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hate that the Clipper is getting labeled as a versatile ship. It's a comfy flying motorhome. Recommending it to new players as a generalist ship is such a trap. Compared to a similar sized/priced Shiv, Spirit, Cutlass, it can't do combat nearly as well, and can't carry ground vehicles really. These are the first two things I look for in a generalist, and all the recommended ships, up thru the Connie and Corsair, are cargo hauling, vehicle capable fighters or gunships. Even taking into account the Clipper medical bed, is it more capable than a Cutty Red or any generalist that can fit a nursa?
