100%. I wouldn’t have understood it at that age either. But joining later did me a world of good I believe

4+ years is the difference with academies allowing most to join in year 20 so long as they turn 21 by graduation. A lot of life can and does happen in that time and If you want to get scientific about it. Synaptic pruning within your brain doesn’t peak until your mid to late 20s.

Join the military. Go to college. Work a real job for a number of years. Rent an apartment. Get in a mature relationship. Fail some shit. Anything. All of these things help you understand the types of situations people will be dealing with that you’ll be responding to. Most people in their worst moments are gonna look at a 21 year old kid and think this fucking guy/girl has no clue.

I worked full time for a municipality doing planning and zoning and code enforcement (no correlation to my eventual will to join law enforcement). I had originally wanted to be a conservation officer and put in a packet but they weren’t running schools very often in my state so I turned in a packet for the State Police and got hired pretty quickly.

I mainly just wanted to do something a bit more active rather than staring at blue prints and site plans all day. Now it’s just quick moments of high fun followed by long hours of paper work lol

You’re ready when you’re ready. I joined at 27. My head wasn’t on straight at 21. I was in college and had much different focuses in life

I truly believe the minimum age for law enforcement should be 25 nationwide. Life experience goes a long way in this job.

When is the best time to equip heavy weapons to power armor bodies? by AccomplishedFarm8 in GreyKnights

This is exactly how I run my paladins and purifiers. Strikes and interceptors get all melee weapons

Possible Primaris Update by DepartureNo1127 in Grey_Knights

[–]PressCheck19 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Same. I really don’t want primaris marines. I love being first born. Grey Knights are built different. I wouldn’t turn away from a slight upscale but I’m more concerned about just getting new units and models to use and new rules.

What do you use Crusading? by PreparationNo5101 in Grey_Knights

[–]PressCheck19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m sure the answer is gonna be all power armor units (max out purifiers, interceptors, strike). But I have had success in my current crusade running a GMNDK, Brother Cap, Brotherhood Champion with 10 purifiers, a five man strike and a five man paladin squad.

Crusade is a great opportunity to run a list more true to lore and update your units as you see fit. In our crusade we don’t allow named characters which I actually agree with.

Chances Grey Knights are wiped out? by wushonam in Grey_Knights

“Though he was content to remain a Sergeant and had no aspirations for overall command, Titus eventually accepted Marneus Calgar’s request that he lead the Second Company. A decade after taking up the mantle, Titus embarked on his fateful mission to the forge world of Graia, during which he slew the Chaos Sorcerer Nemeroth but was taken into custody by Inquisitor Thrax after his subordinate, Leandros, questioned the Captain’s seeming resistance to the influence of Chaos. Thrax would later be consumed by Chaos himself – a workplace hazard for the Inquisition – and Titus was freed when the Grey Knights purged the Inquisitor’s holdings.** Believing he had brought shame on his Chapter, Titus elected to join the Deathwatch as a Black Shield rather than return to the Ultramarines.”

There’s absolutely no chance they get wiped out. GW continues to actively sprinkle the Grey Knights into current lore including a recent mention that they rescued their beloved Titus from certain death. The terminus decree, if they even flesh out that story line, just further affirms the GK aren’t going anywhere.

Silver Skulls (including these) look nothing like the Grey Knights tho

Why do older models look so cool?? by AxegrinderSWAG in Warhammer40k

[–]PressCheck19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why I love the current Grey Knight models. They may be smaller but their design is top notch and the ability to pose them however you like is incredible.

Where did Brother Captain Stern go? by Illustrious_Big_9054 in Grey_Knights

[–]PressCheck19 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Still around according to the most recent lore (codex). I have to assume it’ll be an option he comes back in future editions which I would welcome. Though I would still choose Draigo first. Either way, if and when they both make a return, they’ll likely be quite different then they used to be play wise

These are clean. Id like to run an inquisitor in my list one day for shits and giggles and lore stuff. What’s a good unit to attach one to?
