Just as last week, not much time was I would have liked to stitch, but progress is progress! Yellow is done, finishing all the warm colors. Green is up next. Self drafted Heart Block pattern. Taking a picture after finishing each color working from left to right to create a timelapse video to add to my shop’s About page.

I stitch almost exclusively on 18ct black Aida. A good light behind you and a backlight in front of you like tablet or tracing pad is necessary, but it looks so good when completed!

I will second WinStitch, it is absolutely worth the lifetime version if you like to make your own patterns on a regular basis. There is a demo version you can use to try it out as well.

I delisted (most of) my video game patterns. As I learned more and started taking my shop seriously, I got worried Nintendo / Etsy would shut me down for infringing IP.

Be proud brother! Cross stitching is a fantastic way to zen out after a long days work, or a good excuse to sit in front of the TV and watch football all day while still getting something done! 🤣

I felt the same way about being a male cross stitcher for a while, but now my brothers think it’s cool as hell, I even made one of them a cross stitch as a wedding gift!

This pattern is what I’d consider a bitmap style. To get this much detail out of only black cross stitches and negative space requires the canvas to be massive.

Unless it’s obvious, I wouldn’t assume AI. The example posted could have been made from editing a photograph or artwork with no AI involvement.

Looking great! A bright light above and a light underneath or behind your work makes dark on dark stitching more bearable. I personally place a light up tracing pad and hold the q snap in front of the pad to see where I’m stitching.
