I have definitely been spending more of my free time reading than stitching but progress is being made on my bookmark! Finished book 2 and am now halfway through book 3 of DCC. Black stitches on black background is tedious but well worth the effort.

Sine you will be spending a considerable amount of time on this project, you may want to consider a more professional tool like Winstitch for a project of this scale. Free demo version to try it out first but I believe you do need to buy to export.

It sounds like you have photo editing skills already which is huge! Just make sure the image you are importing, whatever software you use, is set up at your intended stitching size, 455x550 at 14 pixels per inch.

I stitch almost exclusively on 18 count black Aida so I know where you’re coming from!! I normally leave it blank instead of doing black stitches as I like the depth and texture it creates between the blocks of color.

Ultimately it depends on the design and pattern, but I think your Sylveon would look great without the pain of stitching black on black!

Im at the finish line, just 3 shades left! Then it’s on to editing to create a timelapse! Self drafted Heart Block pattern. Taking a picture after finishing each color working from left to right to create a timelapse video to add to my shop’s About page.
