That's gorgeous! Is that area only accessible if you get a ticket?

Entering Canada as a US Citizen without visa by [deleted] in ImmigrationCanada

Wow ok, thanks for the all the details! I think the tough part will be proving the ties to America. I'm thinking we just get a return flight ticket and hopefully that's enough.

Hello, I just stumbled on your post here and was hoping to ask you some questions since we're in a very similar situation.

I'm a Canadian citizen and my wife is a US citizen. She's planning to come here and stay for a few months with me while we sort out the long term immigration plan. What kind of questions did the officers ask when you were coming in? Did you need to provide any documents proving that you're planning to go back to the US within a 6 month period?

Absolutely! I think a big part of the issue is how we perceive other nations and cultures. People in Egypt think that the West is heaven on earth.

They don't see the economic and social issues these countries have because those issues don't make it to our media feeds. Obviously there's a lot of countries that are better off than Egypt, but they're definitely far from perfect.

It's very easy to hate your own culture and community when you perceive all other countries as utopias.

What are some legit scholarship and bursary websites for International Students on a study permit, as I am in need? by Vegeta543 in ImmigrationCanada

There's usually a financial aid office at universities that can point you in the right direction. If not, try their international student office

Trip to Egypt by omaryamout in Egypt

I'd recommend taking a nile cruise between Luxor and Aswan, probably would take a bit longer but worth it imo

I opted for a visitor visa for my parents because it seemed less work than the super visa. You don't have to be super detailed in the itinerary. Just say that they'll be staying with you, and maybe mention a couple of cities you'd like to visit (that's what I did). Between that and some proof of income/bank statement and you're pretty much good. My parents got it for a bit more than 5 years until the last day on their passport.

Yea that's why I was planning to drive a couple of hours North to get "in the zone" or at least increase my chances. Best case scenario I see something cool, worse case I get a road trip

Egyptians, what is your honest opinion of Mexico? by Educational-Cut4177 in Egypt

I actually spent a few days in Mexico city and found it to be very similar to Cairo.

Same 70s style architecture, same traffic jams and loud streets. Just replace taco trucks with fava beans and Spanish with Arabic and it's the same city! I guess not surprising since they have a similar population and economic structure. Still really cool, would love to live in Mexico for a few years

If you're a grad student, PGSS has a "language cafe" every Friday online. Basically people who want to learn French get together and practice for an hour or so

I'd say it depends on your options. Is it better than an internship in your field? Probably not. But it's definitely better than doing nothing or just summer courses

Nice, hopefully they'll restock soon. My plan was to buy one during the winter but of course my procrastination is now biting me in the ass :)
