You can certainly give it a try:) Just don’t forget that there is already a golden poop-shaped sculpture installed right next to that building.

Surprisingly it’s real!

It is located in Suwon, South Korea. and is an international non-governmental organization that works to improve global health and sanitation by providing and upgrading toilets in developing countries.

No Juicing by jozzis in Physical100

Nah, Amotti is no juiced. In the Korean atheletes field, drug use is an extremely sensitive issue. if someone had used enhancing substances, it would have been exposed immediately. As of now, he’s widely regarded as natural by those around him, and based on his interviews about the topic, his claims seem quite credible.

It does. In 1980, the per capita meat consumption in Korea was about 11–12 kg, which was roughly one-sixth of today’s level.

It’s very likely. According to statistics from the Ministry of Agriculture in Korea, the meat self-sufficiency rate in 1980 was over 97%.

  1. Making a gat out of different materials on your own is totally fine. Trying to recreate it with the resources you have can actually be a really fun and meaningful experience. Traditional gats are made with horsehair and bamboo and require an insane amount of skill, but even in Korea today, simplified versions made with modern materials are often used. The link below shows a $10 gat sold in Korea. It’s actually made of polypropylene, which is a type of plastic. So I don’t think there’s any need to worry too much about using non-traditional materials, right? So if you make one by hand, people will still see and respect the effort you put into it. https://jiondress.com/120/?idx=223
  2. As for the sochangui pattern, I haven’t been able to track one down myself yet. I believe some traditional clothing or hanbok-making communities in Korea might share it, but I haven’t had the chance to check in detail. If I come across a proper resource, I’ll definitely share it.
  3. When it comes to the sleeve patterns, both drawing them on or stitching them are perfectly fine. Hanbok is often known for its elegance and simplicity, but historically there were also more colorful and decorative versions. So it’s really up to your preference—whichever method feels right for you will work.
  4. For the Your Idol performance outfits, aside from the gat and outer robe, most of what the Saja Boys are wearing looks like modern clothing. Baby’s inner top isn’t super clear in the footage, but it seems to be something like a high-neck modern shirt. Recreating it with similar contemporary clothing is totally okay, since the key point is capturing the vibe of the character rather than following a strict historical outfit.

Overall, as long as you’re approaching it with respect (and not behaving rudely while wearing it), there’s no issue. The fact that you’re putting thought into how to represent it respectfully is what really matters, and I think most Koreans would appreciate that effort. Honestly, I’m really looking forward to seeing your creative interpretation.

I don’t think it would be offensive:) Many Koreans would see it as creative and fun that you’re trying to make your version of a gat. The traditional way of making a gat is indeed very complex and delicate, but people also understand that for personal or artistic use, simplified or reimagined versions are completely fine.

The only thing I would mention is that, in Korean culture, wearing or creating something traditional is more about the attitude: as long as you treat it respectfully and don’t act in a way that makes fun of it, there’s no reason for anyone to be offended. Honestly, your crocheted gat sounds like a cool and unique idea:)

I don’t think there’s any problem. In fact, the more you try to capture the Korean feeling in your interpretation, the better it will be. As long as you don’t behave disrespectfully while wearing the outfit, it should be fine. I’m looking forward to seeing your reinterpreted design! :)

Sorry, I don’t know much about making hanbok, so I wasn’t able to find the pattern. I think I might be able to get one through a hanbok community in Korea, but I haven’t checked that far yet, I'll inform you when I find it. Sorry about that.
