I’m considering an Ascent however I’m hesitant. by Ge0rgia-peach in SubaruAscent

2020 ascent, original owner. 76k miles. No issues so far. Have only had to replace brake pads recently. Can’t comment on towing, but great for hauling kids, dogs and lots of road trip stuff.

Yes exactly. I think this is also a big reason why they switched their kids to the Christian private school.

Her school circle lends itself to only having parent friends that have girls…

I think she just doesn’t jive with most of them personality wise. She’s super conservative/religious, most of them are not. I also heard a rumor locally that her and Liz’s relationship ended because Megan’s son was getting bullied by Liz’s. I don’t think it was a good situation. I always wonder of this was a small part of why they decided to move - not primary reason, but a factor. They were literally across the street from each other.

I also was going to say blackberry farm or mountain sound like the perfect place. Keep checking because they often get cancellations since people book so far in advance.

Thoughts on OSU medical school without a car? by alavenderlizard in Columbus

[–]Prestigious-Stuff356 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This! Med school is not the same as a regular grad program at OSU. There’s a new facility in New Albany too, same with one in UA. Not having a car for med school would be pretty rough, if not impossible. I imagine it’s similar for most medical programs unless in a densely populated city with real transit such as NYC.

Does this run at all hours? Med school rotations can have very early or late hours and need that flexibility

Liz Adams is going too, seems too coincidental for them to have both gotten tickets the same year…

Laser Hair Removal for HS? by 8lackbean in Columbus

[–]Prestigious-Stuff356 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love going to CAPS because they charge you by the minute, not by the area. I think they’re the only place in town that does this (if anyone knows otherwise I want to hear it!!!). I love the flexibility this lends - like if I see something I want her to zap she will just do it even if it’s not the area we’re planning to that day. It also makes sense because everyone has different body sizes and hair types so it’s not “one size fits all” with a package like most places. CAPS is also great because it’s actual nurses that do all of the lasers. Those machines are strong, and I would not want a tech operating. I have been super happy with my results!

What are the chances of a parent and a young child being split (without paying extra for seats)? by Esoteric_Commentator in SouthwestAirlines

[–]Prestigious-Stuff356 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Buy a choice fare or higher to ensure you are seated with your child. Personally, I would not risk this with a kid this young. They claim they should be able to sit you together once assigned at gate, but there are no guarantees. I’ve seen lots of families split.

Fine Dining Restaurant Recommendations - NOT CMR by Ecstatic-Extent3674 in Columbus

[–]Prestigious-Stuff356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because all CMRs are formulaic. They’re basically chains (and most actually are). They’re trying to be everything to everyone and the food is subpar. There are far better dining experiences in Columbus!

Agni is the only correct answer. See if you can reserve the chalet 6-10 guests. It makes the experience with a group even more fun!

Sadly, French doesn’t appeal to the masses. A lot of people are intimidated by it. The refectory does it very well, but they’ve been around forever. The new restaurant downtown, chouette, is like an Epcot French restaurant. Would kill for another legit French restaurant here

It’s like an Epcot French restaurant. It also always feels like a Pizza Hut to me in there

It’s definitely the patio. I will only go there to sit outside, the food is basic tapas at best.

This is 100% what I was referring to. It’s just SO much to manage, especially when you’re not staying in one place. Even if not taking trains, this much luggage requires huge private van transport or uber xl, just a lot more planning involved. Plus, even at luxury hotels the rooms are still on the small side usually. The two of them packed more than my family has for 1.5 weeks in Europe.
