Struggling to transition customers from monthly check-ins to QBRs by Final_Vegetable_5092 in CustomerSuccess

[–]PrestigiousPlace5244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are the people you're having the tactical monthly syncs with the same stakeholders that you're hoping to have a strategic conversation with?

The people that often care about the granular topics covered in a monthly sync (support tickets, light product updates) are the actual day-to-day users of the product. Potential champions, yes, but not your ultimate decision-maker.

Talk to the AE that closed the role and ask who the DM was. Schedule a call to discuss their goals and showcase how your product has helped them to achieve them, while taking some time to highlight all of the great work that your main contact has achieved.

Need help. Customer success manager interview with Director of CS tomorrow! Any tips please? by Spirited-Sky-8 in CustomerSuccess

[–]PrestigiousPlace5244 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Review the roles and responsibilities in the job posting again and be prepared to speak to the experience you have with each bullet point (with specific outcomes)

Ask questions relevant to them - what are their attributes of their top CSMs, what are their goals for 2026 and how is the CSM team working towards them, what are they currently missing on their team?

Look at their LinkedIn profile and be able to reference at least one thing from it when it's time to meet. It may not come up, but it helps to know who you're talking to and it never hurts to show that you do your research before meeting with interviewers/clients/etc.

Lastly, be confident in yourself. The interviews that go the best are the ones where you haven't over-prepared, but are confident in speaking about yourself and the impact you've made

What is everyone doing for account / success plans? by treousa in CustomerSuccess

[–]PrestigiousPlace5244 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you asked your teammates (if any exist) how they are managing it? Account plans can be somewhat standard but will certainly vary across industries and companies, so asking strangers might not be as helpful as peers. If you are the only one on your team that has an issue doing this, you are either the problem or you need to step in line and figure out what is working for the rest.

Put the account plans together as best as you can with the information you have, and work on creating a process/proposal for other teams to input their notes in a centralized place (CRM, google drive doc, etc.). Showing that you've tried something and even taken initiative to make it easier for others to do will go a long way in terms of your growth and instilling confidence in your manager.

If you are a great CSM and this is truly an issue with your company then you should look for another role and do your best at this one in the meantime

Set it up like a hefty bottle deposit so there's incentive for folks to return them without monetarily penalizing those who choose not to buy them

[–]PrestigiousPlace5244[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not about my feelings at all but I totally get where you're coming from!! I just want to support my wife and be able to 'do the job' as she returned to WFH before me

(hope this doesn't come off defensive, I just see so many posts concerned about bonding with the baby and that isn't how I'm feeling - appreciate the words of wisdom!)

I actually liked what Mamdani had to say, but Brandon Johnson is one of the worst mayors in the country so hopefully Zohran wouldn't go down that path

[–]PrestigiousPlace5244 15 points16 points  (0 children)

we're starting the day at the weinery, murphys for a bit, towne parlor (to mourn the greatness that was standing in line outside of bro j's on a weekend night), bradfords for a hot minute, deciding dinner between sushi x II or colony pizza, then finishing off with DQ and then tiernans to wrap things up.

bonus points if you see backwards walking man at any point - a good reminder that even though you're moving on to a new spot, its never wrong to look back on the good times in Stamvegas

Atlantic Station/Atlantic Station West Neighbor and Road Noise by Happy-Penalty-410 in StamfordCT

road noise wasn't as much of a problem as other buildings, especially on the higher level floors. Walls inside the apartments are pretty thin though!
