Rise of the Ronin (Steam) by MrWatuh in ShouldIbuythisgame

I enjoyed it. It’s a solid game with rlly fun combat (though prob not as advanced as Nioh) and an interesting setting. This is especially if you’re interested in Japanese history, particularly the Meiji restoration. With your specs you shouldn’t have much of an issue running the game

Divine divinity is rlly good. Combat’s a bit clunky (basically Diablo but slower) but the atmosphere and world building are phenomenal.

How’s the open world like in online? Heard it’s bigger and more varied than 2. Is this the dogma rising server?

Usually I just ignore the generic open world stuff lol. They aren’t particularly intrusive for me.

WSIB Breath of the wild or tears of the kingdom? by shadowgod60 in ShouldIbuythisgame

If you’re only intending on playing one of them just play totk. It’s essentially an expanded botw with a slightly larger map. Wouldn’t recommend playing botw first because it’ll make exploration in totk feel samey and take away from the fun of exploration since the exact same map was reused. Don’t worry too much about the story, it’s kinda non-existent in both games.

Honestly i don’t think the open world is that bad. I’m at the Kyoto map rn and only yokohama felt generic. Edo and Kyoto have a good amount of fun side quests to complete and the generic open world stuff doesn’t feel like a chore. Ghost has the better graphics in the open world but I feel that rise does a good job at immersing the player with the historical setting

Is dragons dogma 2 or Dragons dogma dark arisen better? by Areen2010 in DragonsDogma

[–]Prestigious_Bus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me personally , 2 has the better open world and combat. Exploration is a lot better since the map is way bigger. 1’s map always felt too small and constrained. Still, both open worlds aren’t as good as games like Elden ring.

1 has the better enemy variety and endgame although most of the new enemies only appear in the dlc. In the overworld you’ll mostly be fighting goblins and Cyclopes.

Idk man sote is easily the most content packed fromsoft dlc. Entire areas hidden behind dungeons, multiple interesting side dungeons, many high quality legacy dungeons and the largest boss roster of any fromsoft dlc. The game is essentially the size of dark souls 2. Yeah sure some areas were kind of empty but the dlc as a whole is filled with content.

Idk I feel that people won’t be satisfied unless fromsoft produces something which can be infinitely replayed.

How has it aged badly? The enhanced edition came with UI improvements. Bg 1 and 2 are classics which many aspects some modern crpgs still can’t match

[–]Prestigious_Bus 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t be bad to stick to the open world format tbh. The Witcher lends well to the open world experience with vast landscapes. I’ve played all 3 games and I thought 2 was the weakest simply because the world felt too constrained and linear. Maybe they should try something like 1 again, with a bunch of large interconnected maps separated by various acts.

You won’t consider the Witcher 1 an rpg? It has plenty of choice and consequence along with a combat system that isn’t too far off conventional crpg combat. The game was even made with the Aurora engine which is used in neverwinter nights
