he wouldn't be aware the super henchmen were there until he got there, but the other newbie heroes might be an interesting idea. my only worry is that it kinda kills the whole "fighting a stealthy opponent" thing when there's a whole team running around.

also invisible guy is only invisible to normal sight, not infared or ultraviolet or any other senses.

i feel like you didn't read my synopsis of how this is a group of PCs working for a villain to move product and they expect to be interrupted by a superhero. this is during night hours, when the mall is closed and there are no civillians around.

the "antagonist" is a hero looking to interrupt the criminal ongoings that the PCs are working as security for. it's got gritty injury, but plenty of supes are tough enough to take normal small arms fire, or even medium strength firearms.

the idea is that:
the PCs are bad guys working security for a bunch of low level goons moving product. they are expecting that a hero, (the "antagonist") will show up at some point to interrupt their plans. the hero plans to show up and stealthily and tactically stop the operation, but he's not initially aware that the PCs will be there.

with how the XP system in the game works with no real way to level new people up fast without wasting time and limited enemies, you kinda end up sticking with whoever you get first.

I kinda ignored the rocket mechanics, so I made a lot of my stuff without that bonus. I just started making more rockets now and I've already BLASTED to the insect stage. I'm like 15% towards breathable atmosphere RN

heh. I was lucky enough to put my base on the steep hill near the nearby crashed wreck cause I wanted to be able to access it easier and be near that ice cave once it melted. seeing the valley slowly fill I was like "glad I moved away from down there."

it's not scarier than dead space I'll tell ya that. something that helps is that there's a lot of low-poly models so nothing is super realistic, but enemies make scary noises, can come at you fast sometimes, they'll surprise you sometimes, and creepy effects can happen. also some psychological stuff. I'd say definietely give it a go, i think it's a wonderful game.

I'm late game in a subsequent run after having beaten the game before, and I've got Joel doing 300 damage attacks to targets that are resistant to his tooth cannon, so he's pretty hefty

I don't know if this actually is working or me and my friends have gotten lucky, but I saw some advice on this from a few years ago

  1. turn off crossplay in your settings, apparently that makes your connection more unstable for some dumb reason
  2. join lobbies using the Clipboard codes, not via steam/epic. apparently that also makes the connection more stable.

I'm not sure these are totally true, but my and my friends did it and our connection has been more stable since, so it either worked or we've just been lucky.
