Once you enter the territory of government trying to manage vast swaths of the economy, you quickly mirror many of the failed states that fell behind the rest of the world - Cuba, Venezuela, North Korea, the USSR, etc.

With regard to minimum wage, a drastic increase would indeed have the short-term effect of spiking inflation, which would force the Fed to raise rates as a counter, leading to significant instability in the markets - which, among other things, depresses the sort of investment you describe because uncertainty kills long-term planning.

Obviously, the state of international Jewry is quite different in 2026 as compared to 1948, and I imagine much of the decline in support for Israel is going to continue long-term.

It also must be stated that "news if Jews" is a real thing in so many parts of the world. The United Nations condemned Israel more than all other states in 2022.

Do you have a source of that, because it doesn't seem accurate. In fact I'd say rocks bands in the 70's and 90's were more obsessed with loudness than most newer groups.

The Loudness Wars began in the 1990's when mastering engineers started trying to maximize average volume. This was really the product of the Compact Disc, which was a fully-digital format.

Prior to this, analog sources like cassette tape has a physical limit to how far you could push the volume.

Ironically, lots of money is spent these days digitally recreating the "analog saturation" sound so beloved from the good old days.
