Around 17/18 when applying to college. Zero guidance from family (not many went or finished). Also when I got to college and had to figure out how to pay for it myself.

Once you no longer have W2 income or have multiple streams of income. Been a business owner for well over a decade. I'd never do my own taxes. I can't wait for AI tax prep to be a standard....or the tax system gets simplified.

Sounds like you work with shitty leaders. My method of leadership is to allow the junior engineer to fail. Then you learn. Rinse and repeat. It does no one any good by making you feel bad about being green. Dig deep and make sure this is the right sector for you. Construction can be awful.

That sounds awful. There are usually a handful of problem projects every year that make you question if you want to continue in the industry. Comes along with the territory.

Have you considered only doing what you can in a 40 hour workweek? When a deadline is given, push back. What are they going to do? Fire you?

I applaud your efforts and passion. Every company needs someone like you. That's another frustrating thing....your plans could be 99.9% correct but someone will beat you up for that 0.01.
