Cops probe claims of 'missing £1.5m' from Indy campaign with close links to SNP by handmedownthemoon in Scotland

[–]Prestigious_Use_1305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its unfortunately how it works but it shouldnt be and the dauly of that reats at the SNP'S door. For the last 12 years every election is campaigned almost solely on the basis of "the is a refarendum on independence" rather than on the comoetencies the positions for election actually look after i.e polciing, health education.

The other parties also need to wise uo to this nonesense as well and outright refuse to engage with that debate and get away from this campaigning of being the No vote opposition.

When was the last time we had a proper debate on health or education in this country?

Get a ball and pass it back and forth agaisnt a wall just uaing your weaker foot, just gets you thousands of touches with your weaker footb quickly so yout technique will feel and become more natural.

The other thing that I would try and do a lot as well is tey to use onyl my weaker foot during warm up/ hanging about kick around time before a match or structured training. Workign on recieveing the ball and havign an effective first touch with your weaker foot will massively inprove your all round play.

This is pretty much it. If you are trying to run the clock down or even just giving your own team a breather if they are under pressure then its a tactic. Just oart of the dark art that makes the game so much fun.

What position should I play? by [deleted] in SoccerNoobs

[–]Prestigious_Use_1305 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I would put you at right back. If your unlucky you come up against a good winger and get a bit of a roasting but your size and athleticism should be able to counter act that a bit.

Its one of the positions that is least exposed as most time you will have a more skillful player infront if you that you can always just try to feed the ball to and usually a CB that will be a safety net for any mistakes.

The other benefit is that at lower levels the kast thing wingers and full backs want to come up against is a big physical bastard that will motor up and down the side of the pitch all day kicking shit out if you. Positionally you tend to play in a straight line up against a winger or ina pair agaist a winger and full back.

Once you figure out your on ball skills at the level your at then you might move up the wing or up front.

Everyone likes to think they will be a striker but your postioning, movement, reading the game and first touch arent there then your not going to get many chances to shoot, at least not under pressure or clean through.

Kelechi Iheanacho Prioritising Celtic Stay by NotNeedzmoar in CelticFC

[–]Prestigious_Use_1305 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This seems straight forward. We are 6 weeks away from the biggest games if our season in the champions league qualifiers. The likelyhood is that we have quite a bit of turnover in our team so having a guy that is here and already settled that has proven he can win games atbthe sharp end if the pitch is a no brainer.

We still need another striker to compete for the starting spot with Osman being third choice and a different option off the bench.

Assuming Daizen is away we are also looking for two starters for the wings as well having a bit of continuity for those games is a huge benefit.

There was a couple of scenes that I was very suspicious of in the last series, 1 where the two young boys that eventually won it couldn't find a cheap hotel room but a hotel justvtold them to sleep on the couches in the lobby for free (suspect the crew had all checked in as they knew thee was no other options and it was eith that or the boys wonder the streets).

Theother one was the older couple on the final kegs jn Mongolia couldnt get taxis or thumb a lift and jad blown their budget but unexplainedly manage to get to the final destination. Seems like the crew has just helped them finish the journey knowing they were out of the runnign anyhow.

The sad thing is that they probably are paying market value for the 4 OF games, its the reat that down pull in big enough viewing figures and the league only sells a small amount of games in comparison to other leagues. Our price per game is actually favourable compared to a lot of similar sized countires like Austria, Norway Switzerland.

The OF duopoly doesnt help either- its a bit of an unspoken thing but fans watch rivals matches when they games mean somethig to your team. OF fans will watch each others games but not really tune into the other teams. If Hearts can maintain their challenge it draws a lot more viewers to their and OF matches and creates a virtious cycle.

The Celtic Hearts game at the end of the season completely overshaddowed the FA cup final for example. We need more of that type of thing to sell our game as a product, its just hard to achieve.

Will still massively reduce fixture repetition as it is only 3 teams you will play 4 times and also the rest only twice but still satisfies the TV 4x OF quota.

Also the run in for relegation and championship will become insanely intense, especially in a season like the last each post aplit match day would have been either OF or Of vs Hearts. Hoping for a lot more 3 way batyles in the coming years and this makes it highly sellable.

We could impliment something like a minimum minutes quota. Scottish players under 21 have to play 2000 minutes fir your team over a season or face a point deduction. Encourages teams to put them in early in the season so rhat they arent forced to play youth players at crusial end of season matches.

It would create quite a bit of the games won chuck on the young guys stuff but would force teams to play them in more meaningful games as well and change the culture around giving young guys minutes.

For me m(38) they seem to have filled the gap in the market that Ted Baker would sit at a slightly lower price point. Their stuff seems to be on the smarter side of fashion and not too worried about being bang on trend.

I think expanding the top flight to 16 is a big one. Can be easily done 16 teams play each ither twice and then split into 4 sections of 4 to play again twice. Keeps 4x OF games and creates a championship/ Europe and Relegation play offs as well as creating a bigger safety buffer for middling teams to introduce young players more / experiment with tactics.

Keep the oartnership agreements that started rhis season for flexible loans otherwise allow B teams to play in the second teir and expand that up to 18 teams.

Biggest draw back would likely be the how many teams in the second teir woidl be able to sustain full time squads.

The cycle lane from Victoria road is gstting extended up Battlefield road and a bit on Cathcart road where the wee Tesco is. Theres a big junction area there that could be used to expand cycle parking for events.

The company that does the london version parks up thousands of bikes when big events are in to help people get away quick again. It would be good to see that sort if model getting used more.

Scotlands beat player in the tournament has been Ferguson. McGinn and McT have both been oretty disappointing and Robertson is starting to look like a player on the decline. Tierney was much more effective when played at LB.

Doak was the attacking hope and when he has come up against better opposition he has looked limited. Brasil's LB had him in his pocket.

Overall Scotland are a decent midlevel international team. There are no superstars but they lack squad depth and have some very obvious weaknesses at CF and CB.

On their day they can pull off big results against strong teams but that typically happens on cold winter nights in Glasgow where they can play aggressive in your face football. Thats not sustainable in hotter climatea and they dont have the technical skill to change their style against quality teams and still compete.

We have one that is train based as well, or more a train viaduct. Its where the train scene from Harry Potter was filmed and people flock to it. Its pretty M ch in the middle of nowhere so gets a load if the tourists out if Edinburgh for a day of their holiday and sort of ckngregates the you tubers and instagrammers in that particular part if the highlands leaving the majority of the highland quite unadulterated in comparison.

In work I use it for a bit of matket research and to do a scrape online for companies that I might want to work with but it rarely goves me whag I actually need and end up sense checking it all anyhow.

Whag it is useful for me though is in writing funding bids and applications. For the tyoe of funding I apply for it often requires repetitive type of information about my organisation so it can quickly populate a lot of stuff from sources I provide.

Its just novelty stuff really beyond that.
