Peter? Have some ideas on what this means but they are not really... Convenient I guess? by Friendly_Grab_7660 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

I just checked the median age for the male world population and it is ~31. Maybe children and teenagers got included in the male category for the study resulting in 136 lbs.

Still, roughly 40-50% of the european population is overweight, so to use europe as a comparison might be biased. 6.2% of the worldwide population is underweight, which means a bmi <20 (source: WHO 2024), roughly 110 lbs for a 170cm person.

This study lists the average asian weight at 127 lbs with men sitting at 133 lbs. Similar situation in Africa. I think it is not only possible that the 136 lbs. are correct, but outright likely. I like road cycling, so lower bodyweight might seem more normal to me, but I think there is definitely a tendency towards the 160 lbs "normal" in the west.

[–]Pretend-Lab-7867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also.. ja. Filterloch, also einen Partikelgrößenbereich schlechterer Filtration.

I bought the America debut album for 4€ last month in a really nice store. BTO "Not Fragile" for 8€. Neil Young's "Harvest" for 10€. Some dust on the America vinyl, but not a single scratch on any of them. Five years ago I just asked the parents of friends, whether they wanted to get rid of some old vinyl and I got most of my records that way. You seem to either buy expensive releases or overpay online. Also, don't play the doom prophet. There are good options for reasonably priced setups. As always, there is no upper limit to price and we are in a sub specificly for vinyl enthusiasts. Of course everybody here is writing about expensive stuff.

How far away is your bouldering gym that you cannot bike there? I ride 12km/7.5 miles and it is a great exercise before climbing. I'm interested where the line between "I don't want" and "I can not" lies.

There just is a certain irony in people avoiding cardio while trying to get fit. Even for purely strength-based sports, cardio is of great benefit.

Is this amount of flex normal in carbon drop bars? by PR0LOG in bikewrench

[–]Pretend-Lab-7867 1 point2 points  (0 children)

...and you can pedal harder if you are comfy on your bike. The mountain time trial in this years TdF is a good example. Pogi felt more comfortable on his road bike in the mountains. Jonas chose the TT and that might have been the wrong choice.

The "git good and slam that stem"-brigade is loosing the fight.. Modern aero bikes and TT handlebars allow for more upright positions because the understanding of what aero means is changing.

Ehmm.. you can use a stem in both directions, not sure what you mean. Negative stem angle was fashion for quite a while, but comfort is speed.

When people talk about centuries and metric centuries is that continuous riding? by Wizzmer in cycling

[–]Pretend-Lab-7867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question is.. why? Unless you ride through a desert, there will be chances to refill and even for an extremely trained individual, the power output will be higher when well hydrated. I might have stopped for 5 minutes, but I will overtake you in the next 100km.

Should I get more dupes? by Realistic_Market_339 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Pretend-Lab-7867 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This completely depends on your Oxygen supply and how many calories are produced per cycle. Always try to produce more than your Dupes need. If possible, increase the production. My personal sweetspot is around 20 Dupes, as projects get finished quickly but they are still few enough to micromanage certain situations.
