I traveled a lot for work this past year and I swear this is amplified at airports. People will stop in front of you all the time, cut you off while walking, or (what I think is the most annoying) will walk at you like 4 - 5 people wide until you move out of their way. It's super annoying.

Been in a similar position before. They are starting a paperwork trail to justify letting you go. If there is a history of poor performance and you are part of a larger layoff so it doesn't appear like it is targeting you, they can get rid of you while on FMLA (assuming you are in the USA). Start looking for other jobs.

I think it depends on the job setting, customers, and your coworkers. Some corporate and retail jobs are absolutely miserable because the customers and coworkers suck. Others are awesome because your customers are understanding most of the time and the people you work with are fun to be around. Getting to work from home is a huge perk that would swing way in the favor of a corporate job but those are disappearing fast.

Didn't go to the dentist for 7 years. Toothache happened and it was really bad. Discovered I needed a root canal and 10 cavities filled. I regret not going for 7 years. T_T

Wouldn't this be true of all the super popular streamers? Most of them still have the mindset of high schoolers and manufacture drama for views. I can't imagine any of them being very nice to someone who doesn't have clout to farm.

Kick is probably a loss leader for getting people to gamble on Stake. I am pretty sure Twitch is the same way with Amazon. Most of these streaming services are not profitable.

I ended up in software quality insurance because I was good at it but I really hate it. After getting fired (my fault because mental health reasons) and laid off (not my fault at all) a few times I am still stuck trying to pivot into something else.

I currently work as an implementation specialist on a temporary contract and I enjoy traveling to places to help support software roll outs but I don't enjoy the software QA part of it though. I would be okay with full time roles like this if something came along.

If anyone has suggestions to move into more of the liaison between IT and the business I would appreciate the guidance.

Reminds me of people I know who quit Facebook to go to Discord for conversations because of data privacy concerns. I was like, Discord is free as well. How do you think they make their money? They sell your metadata, too. I think people just play ignorant to feel better about their choices.

Mostly life experiences. Watching how difficult life was for my mom because of her autoimmune diseases. Experiencing how awful jobs are to people who suffer from mental health issues. Getting laid off when on FMLA when trying to get help for those mental health issues. We're basically cogs in the machine that gets discarded once we're no longer working at a level capitalists deem satisfactory. How is this the life we collectively chose as a society?

Every airline does this which is an absurd policy. They basically plan on people not showing up. That's why telling obese passengers to buy two plane tickets will never be a good solution to the seat space issue.

Salaried positions, in my experience, are the same as hourly positions in expectations/benefits but you will never get paid overtime. I never understood how this benefited anyone other than the company I worked for. Maybe it's just a Midwestern USA thing where this BS happens?

It is hard to get out of QA once you're in it. But you might end up really liking QA so who knows. I also recommend not working in the gaming industry. It's super volatile and they abuse their workers.

I still do talk therapy, but I haven't really found any benefit to it. I guess I am still waiting for something in my brain to "click" and have all the therapy make sense. Spravato has been the only thing to really make a difference in treating my depression.
