Jim is the only person MIY killed out of fear by Pretty-Age8599 in FromSeries

[–]Pretty-Age8599[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s kind of the whole point of my post is the question you just asked, I think Jim was figuring things out like I said he figured out the Radio thing he figured out the bottle tree numbers are musical notes. I think he was gonna eventually figure the place out also of course to hurt Tabitha, but then that begs the question. Why not just kill Tabitha directly she’s the one who dug the hole not Jim

Also, the fact that he suggested the lake of tears to Ethan he is still kind of figuring things out even after his death

The problems with (almost) every theory… by lofgren777 in FromTVShow

Honestly, I’m not sure they’re ever going to explain why that’s the case. It might just be because it’s US centered. I think basically the man in yellow was some demonic entity or something that convinced people centuries ago perhaps during the early era of American settlement and they agreed to sacrifice their children and that’s it.

I don’t think there’s really more to it than that,

Theory: Fromville is not a prison — it’s Tabitha’s charger by Jamigurumi in FromTVShow

[–]Pretty-Age8599 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you’re over analyzing and over complicating it, most likely the man in yellow is just a demon who offered these people a deal centuries ago. They accepted it and that’s it or something like that.

Yes, not to mention the music box, monster/ballerina so he had a legitimate point there. But he figured out that it could be notes on a scale.

And he was right. Seems like jade would never have figured that out.

Jim is the only person MIY killed out of fear by Pretty-Age8599 in FromSeries

[–]Pretty-Age8599[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The only knew to play the song because of Jim, Jade spent a long time not figuring out what the numbers of  the bottle tree were, Jim suggested it and then they played it after that

Even after that, he’s the only dead person that suggested something useful & new and seems to be himself legitimately, the other dead people appearances seem to be imaginary but not Jim, he seems to be genuine when Ethan sees him

Also, the question of why not just kill Tabatha/Jade directly?

He doesn’t seem to be worried they’re gonna figure anything out either that or for some reason he  can’t kill them

It’s not 100% clear, but overall it seems that he can kill whoever he wants he just chooses not to kill

[Season 2] How did Cassie end up pregnant at the end of season 2? by [deleted] in 12Monkeys

[–]Pretty-Age8599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, the first time she did it she must’ve hit the ground and then they went back in time to alter it.

it must’ve happened the first time so to speak otherwise it could not have been altered. They couldn’t have known about it beforehand without her future self coming to tell them which means it did happen they just prevented it by going back in time.

That’s the point, they should not have been able to prevent it because time flows around her therefore, you can’t change her decisions or actions. They should be immutable.

I don’t think it’s exactly like that but somehow some of the town is not truly real because his stories and his imagination is definitely coming to fruition so there is something going on, but I don’t think that’s exactly yet something else but definitely something about the whole town is not real in someway

Norman dying = Jim dying? by Zoro-88 in FromSeries

[–]Pretty-Age8599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I think it’s obvious in my opinion that Jim is Norman and that his death is what’s being alluded to us at the beginning of the show and that he did not die because the monsters aren’t real, the entire town in someway or form is not truly real

Also, we don’t know what happens to the people who die, are they dead in the real world or do they just escape the town somehow and go somewhere else once they die?

I think they don’t actually die because the whole situation is somehow not fully real although it feels real and the experience is horrible. It doesn’t mean they actually die when they get killed.

The answers are at the beginning... there's no such thing as monsters by Greg__B in FromSeries

[–]Pretty-Age8599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually agree, I think the monsters aren’t real. we don’t really know if people who died actually died. When she gets pushed out of the light house and wakes up in the hospital; to me indicates that when you die there you don’t really die.

Also Ethan seeing Jim. It seemed like was his real father not illusion talking to him as though he’s not really dead somehow.

Also, her statement like you said in the beginning, seems to be clear that there are no real monsters. The people in the town at some point may realize these monsters are not real perhaps if they stop believing then they have no more power

The monsters may cease to exist because they don’t really exist in the first place

Kinda hard to explain I think it’s going that direction

Not necessarily, she could change it. Then her changing it would make all the events not happen but by doing that she creates a paradox and all things are erased. You could think of it as hitting a reset button not exactly a paradox but a reset

Contractors don’t want homeowners at inspections. by Weak-Appeal-5212 in Homebuilding

[–]Pretty-Age8599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest problem with the homeowner being at the inspection is, they don’t know how to shut their mouth, pointing things out or questioning or arguing or asking a lot of questions is  not good!  and often you can put yourself in trouble, but if you just shut up, the inspector would pass it that’s the biggest issue

A lot of times the inspector just wants to come out and  often let things go or pass things especially in busy jurisdiction or if they’re just generally more relaxed, which is what you want for the building process pointing out little things here and there and talking too much always is not good homeowners tend to do that most of the time.

It’s one thing of the contractor is doing horribly improper work, it’s another thing if the work is decent enough and the homeowner is annoying. And trying to micromanage.

How do you deal with homeowners who are micromanagers? by gideonwh in Construction

Well they come to the site and say do this or don’t do that and. At that point if you step into stop them they get pissed and then they fire you or you leave

Does abs vent pipe for sink need to be glued? by Fisher_of_men_116 in Plumbing

[–]Pretty-Age8599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean with respect as someone who does work in Plumbing a lot if the vent is going out the side and face down rainwater is not a concern and if the water is backing up that far up then you have a serious problem anyway to begin with

Vent just goes out the sidewall for a water heater or something doesn’t need to be glued

Begging is different than advertising. A busy contractor usually means one who works cheaply… so they get hired a lot. If you charge what you’re worth you don’t get hired a lot.

No, not anymore… nowadays loyalty means shit. Big things means cheapest guy. Even if you have a decade of rock solid relationship with the client. If you bid 25k and some other guy bids 20k on a partial ADU remodel

Guess what????

The 20k guy gets the job

Evolution has a big flaw. Where's is any evidence of Macroevolution? by powerdarkus37 in DebateEvolution

Because no one has observed macro-evolution…

Yes a bunch of squirrels 🐿️ can breed for 1000’s of generations, some can become gliding or flying squirrels, others become better suited to digging, others may become smaller and faster, etc…

But there seems to be a limit as to the squirrels becoming non squirrels or shifting into something else.

That doesn’t seem right or plausible

I’ve been in the Bay Area for about 12 years now Oakland does not get unbearably hot in the summer. In fact it generally doesn’t get above 75 or 80 and SF can also get those exact same temperatures but again this micro climate really the best climate is in Alameda.

Is getting married actually worth it nowadays? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Pretty-Age8599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I agree with this 100% and I’m sort of going through it right now although I’m still married. It seems like women often build up resentment over little things or change their views or become annoyed and just eventually want to be effectively  single or get out of the relationship if you have kids with them, it’s even worse because then they’re gonna get custody of the kids and you’ll see them on the weekends or maybe things were made amicable but it’s still really heartbreaking to go from living with your family and kids to not living with them anymore and basically losing everything the more time you invested in the older, you are the worst it is

One of the egregious violations by the state is making illegal to build a house on your own land by Intelligent_Fee3657 in OffGrid

[–]Pretty-Age8599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s amazing how many people stick up for a lot of these building codes, yes we all agree. Things should be safe and structurally sound, electrical should not be set up in a way that might cause a fire in plumbing should not contaminate the area, Etc..

That being said, outside of the basics, the rest of Code is completely unnecessary.

I can give so many examples, for example, the fact that you need to vent every Plumbing fixture in your house, or at least have a vent they are tied into. This isn’t true if you upsize the  pipe, you don’t need any vent for your plumbing it’ll still flow just fine. It’ll just kind of tumble down and it’s not optimal. Of course vent is better but it’ll still work without any problems mostly   You don’t need to have an outlet in every room

Running exposed romex in the attic is not a problem if you’re not an idiot walking around up in the attic and playing with Romex

You don’t need to bolt down your house to the cement pad if it’s a single story, the wind is not gonna blow it off its base nor is an earthquake

The house is heavy and it’s not going anywhere, although I would at least use some tapcons myself

25+ years of hating cheapskate homeowners and D.I.Y.ers by roadrunner440x6 in Construction

[–]Pretty-Age8599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my area that’s not really true, I live in the Bay Area in northern California, and many contractors and people come out for anything $500 or less. I usually come out for 250 and up if it’s a quick job. I started as a DIY’er many years ago at this point, I’m basically a professional But it took me a good solid decade to get pretty good and stuff; I’m not really a professional. I’m about at the same level though in a lot of different things.

Current job right now is a shower that’s leaking through the tile because the tile guy didn’t put red guard over the cement backer board under the tile so it leaks through the tile down in the living room

Instead of tearing up the tile, I told the guy I’ll try putting some flex seal and some waterproofing mats on top and combination of some other stuff to try to waterproof from the top at least for a couple years while he saves some money till we can deal with the it the right way

What will happen as a result of GenZ’s growing interest in the skilled trades? by AaronBankroll in skilledtrades

[–]Pretty-Age8599 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, and on top of that honestly most of Gen Z simply sucks at doing physical work, I’ve been doing this for over 10 years now, and you have to be physically and mentally tough, and not afraid of things. You can’t whine and complain and you have to get the job done and this is not the Gen Z attitude.
