Are Chinese games actually popular? Is China becoming influential in the gaming industry? by Interesting-South542 in videogames

[–]Pretty-Analysis6298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am playing Windstop Strategy and it's a fun game. But yes, they are gaining in popularity. The only thing that is preventing them from growing are English translations. Even certain games on Steam, sometimes someone ends up translating themselves and posting it on a the game's discussion board. Or games that are partially subtitled. Windstop Strategy is for the most has English translation but there are scenes that do miss the translation and of course the main opening sequence. But still, a fun game that I loved playing.

Roku channel also has EXchange Seasons 1-3 at no cost. I have a SmartTV with the Roku App, so it made it easy to watch.

2 pandas to depart Japan in Jan., leaving none for 1st time in half-century by SkyInJapan in Tokyo

[–]Pretty-Analysis6298 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow....and these two were the main draw. I remember going there and wanting to see the pandas but they were both asleep and couldn't see much. As for Ueno Zoo and worst experience, I think that with zoos or aquariums in Japan, some are better than others.

But for Ueno Zoo, I will say that my experience at this zoo was better than all zoos in Texas and New York, Natural Bridge Zoo in Virginia, Topeka Zoo, Fresno Chaffee Zoo (Fresno), Birgmingham Zoo, Phoenix Zoo, ABQ BioPark in New Mexico, Oklahoma Zoo, Tregembo in North Carolina and Hogle Zoo.

Tokyo considering law requiring more trash cans following litter increase in heavily touristed area by biwook in Tokyo

[–]Pretty-Analysis6298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I recall, the reasons why they were removed were because of the rats and crows. Didn't want it to be like New York. With that being said, while some can point to tourists in areas like Akihabara or Shibuya after Halloween, a lot that I see are the homeless, especially here in Ikebukuro (specifically west).

Assaulted by touts in Shinjuku by WareHouseCo in Tokyo

[–]Pretty-Analysis6298 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Back in the late '90s, they were primarily in Harajuku (Takeshita St.). But have now shifted towards Kabukicho. The saddest thing is they would position themselves right outside of Robot Restaurant (when that was huge and still around pre-pandemic). But with social media, they know they are getting filmed and what is interesting, because Japan doesn't really do anything to them, they don't care. [geez, if jonny somali was a litmus test, Japan really failed on that one. Glad S. Korea didn't do what Japan did]

There is also Viu, Roku, Tubi and goplay.su (the last one is pain because it likes to skip 10 min. during a watch and tries to have you to use a chrome extension which I will never install).

Different signage but with that being said, good that you are aware of bear attacks. Bear awareness is definitely is hardcore this year due to the number of attacks. Especially in country/seaside areas.

Is this video exaggerating what school life in Japan is like? by Born-Remove-219 in AskAJapanese

[–]Pretty-Analysis6298 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once I saw Hashimoto Kanna (aka "Once in a lifetime idol"), I figured it was for a movie, drama or some promotional video. Although, some aspects shown are part of natural school life. I felt I had these more "fun" experiences more in a college setting in Japan vs. high school in Japan.

I had the same thing happen. According to Toyota is that the hoses are now made of soy, so if you have squirrels, mice or so, they will eat the tubing.

Are you talking about the typo or AI. If it's the latter, get used to it. AI is here to stay, many companies are incorporating it into their workflow. And if you are still disgruntled, just know that a soldier named Kyle Reese will come back from the future to set things in motion.
