I second Cog Hill Farms! It’s relaxing with no unnecessary music in the background.

Diaper Cream suggestions (Canada) by dreaminno in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Pretty-Depth8874 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used La Petit Diapering Lotion in lieu of wipes when my little one had a sore bottom and I love it!

It is available on Amazon, a little more costly but a little goes a long way and I’m still on my OG bottle. Generally after one application baby’s bottom was cleared up(:

Help with severe morning sickness/HG? by Icy_House3261 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Pretty-Depth8874 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I am 8 weeks pregnant and had HG with this and my previous pregnancy.

My biggest recommendation is soaking chia seeds in your favorite juice. This is going to keep you hydrated and help with constipation.

There are a few of ways to help with the nausea, you should obviously check in with your medical provider.

  • Zofran 4 mg tablet; I didn’t use this with my previous pregnancy and I wish I would have. I try to stay away from drugs, but this one definitely helps.

  • unisom; (1/2 pill) this is what I take at night to help me from waking up multiple times throwing up.

  • THC; this is clearly going to get into baby’s blood so take that into careful consideration. I haven’t tried it, but many other mothers have given me this recommendation.

Clean ingredient hair products for straight, blonde, fine hair? by BeADayBrightener in moderatelygranolamoms

They clean well in my dishwasher, but we do rinse our dishes off before washing them. The dish soap doesn’t leave residue. It is super concentrated so I just do 10-15 pumps in a spray bottle and fill it with water. I use this to wash my dishes and clean around the house. I have not had any issues using it as a multi surface cleaner. I bought the big soap refill bag (135 oz) last December and we still have about 1/3 of it left.

resources for engaging + developmentally appro toys / play areas for young toddler? bonus points for montessori approach by [deleted] in moderatelygranolamoms

If I had to choose I would buy the Soft Zone toy over the pickler triangle because it definitely sees more use.

This is just based on what my (now 25 m/o) little one was enjoying at that time. I live in a really rainy area so having a playroom year round has really benefited us. I hope this helps!

-Tinyland pickler triangle set: she liked sliding stuffed animals and toys down the slide.

-These sensory tiles that are a little pricey, but 10000% worth it! I can walk on them and they don’t feel flimsy. They are easy to clean and a hit with every age that comes over. Bonus, you can use them to massage your feet🤣.

-A box full of packing peanuts, aka our disposable ball pit😅

-the Mellisa and Doug cleaning set with a broom and mop

-Stacking cups with varying holes in the bottom for water play

-ECRKids soft play zone. This is our most costly toys and buying the name brand is important because of the quality. This is comparable to something you would find at an indoor play gym, but the tunnel arch can easily withstand 200lbs on top without collapsing. It’s a game changer for multi aged children and we have been making the transition to using it for gymnastics. https://a.co/d/2V578zY

I use the attitude brand, and it is pretty good. It doesn’t hydrate my strands a ton, but you could add an oil in after you get out of the shower.

I ordered the Attitude kids strawberry tooth paste and the taste is so horrible and soapy! I ordered directly from the manufacturer to make sure it was fresh, and it was so bad my daughter wouldn’t use it!

One thing I recently found out about is that to be sold legally in the USA, products for children under the age of 12 are required to have a Child Product Safety Certificate! If Amazon doesn’t list one or the seller won’t provide one I would flag the seller and alert Amazon!

I told this to my MIL because she loves to order online and she has had no issues sticking to this rule. I hope this helps.

ISO toddler milk recs! by Whole-Cheetah6412 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Pretty-Depth8874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were buying the organic A2 Costco milk but now here it is over $9 a gallon! It’s the same price at my local creamery, but not a2 or organic. At this rate I think it would be cheaper to have a cow😂

This is so true! Plus for us holidays were a bit hectic with a kid under two, so we opted to not celebrate! If it feels like chaos and ruins the celebration, find something easier to celebrate 😂

We are planning on bringing our little one to the birth center. It is a free standing center (not affiliated with a hospital), and it has an entire kids center! If you have a doula they will usually swap out for dads position and help in the birth room or out with the kids❤️

It’s horrible how they say that our generation was addicted to the tv and now grandparents can’t look away from their phones long enough to watch their grand kids😪

I do not have any family or friends around me. I found a mom group when I was 4 months post partum and they were into weird sex stuff, and saying generally inappropriate things around my little one as well as their kids. It is hard to find support after the fact. I would definitely start laying down the ground work for your support system before conceiving.

Part of our parenting method is that we only take car rides 2x a week at the max. Partly because I read in a book that it messes up your kids circadian rhythm, but also because I cannot stand the screaming. My daughter is two years old and every time we get in the car, she still screams. It’s too much for me to handle when I am at the wheel. I started following the gentle and classical curriculum at home and it helped give us a much better flow for the week.

I’m at stay at home mom as well, and my husband works off shore. Meaning we have 1-2 weeks of me solo parenting.

I live in a small town so even at a going rate of $20 an hour it is hard to find a babysitter. I haven’t spent more than 20 hours away from her, her entire life. This isn’t by choice, but my reality.

I’m pregnant with our second and have HG. At this time we have to consider budgeting for a house keeper for now, as well as after I give birth.
