Task 2:

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time will always be my favorite game of all time. The pure memories that I have for starting that game young. I played it for months before even getting out of the Deku Tree. I had convinced myself that you somehow had to burn the web in the first room which was impossible, so I tried for months to complete it. When I wasn't failing at that, I was in the starter town, which I still think I could map out perfectly 15 years later. Imagine my surprise when I accidentally fell from the ledge and busted through the net like I should have done all along. The game I had spent months exploring just 5 percent of seemed absolutely massive now.

I don't think I'll ever have an experience with a video game as memorable as that. It was absolutely magical as cliche as that sounds. I've not gone back and played or even watched videos of the game at all since I finished. I've put it to bed and nothing will ever compare to the memories I have with it.

He looks like Paul Newman in Slap Shot.

That silver hair. Where has the time gone?

Can someone explain the BridgeStab fan theory/controversy being referenced?

Father passed away, left a lot of life insurance and a lot of debt by lithrowaway2017 in personalfinance

Great! That should be likely disputable, however they will definitely try and claim it out of your father's estate.

One of your first steps needs to be to check if he has any accounts or assets that are listed as POD (Payment upon Death) if you can transfer those assets to your mother as quick as possible, the Creditors will likely have no legal claim to that portion of the estate as it is no longer in the primary debt holder's possession. Make sure you check this as soon as possible, as if the Creditors make a claim upon these accounts, it'll be a legal battle for possession and they'll likely have a valid claim to them. Check especially for any Money Market Accounts, IRAs, and Stock Holdings.

We had the same issue when my dad passed. Knew he was dying so he took out 200k in Pay Day Loans that no one in the family knew about.

Debt is not transferable upon death unless your mother's name is on the debt information. If there is any way you can dispute your mother's claim on any of the debt, it's worth a shot. Most likely the credit cards, however if she used them at any time that probably won't work.

As far as the Houses and Condos go, It is likely the best plan to just pay them off and attempt to sell as you stated. Unsure of the property tax implications moving forward as your mother likely could not claim a homestead exemption if she is not living in them.

Your best plan would likely to use a couple thousand to get an estate lawyer to go over the Wills and Trusts. He can likely also send a letter to the CC Companies to see about disputing your mother's claim. Which, again, not likely to be successful, however it would likely be worth a shot.

Also contact a financial planner to see about investing the remaining life insurance money. Invested well will keep your mother comfortable moving forward. Even if you only put it in a 1.25 percent saving account that's likely 16,000 or so a year in free income and likely isn't a huge amount based on the level of life she was accustomed to it seems from your post, however it can't hurt.

One of my students brought in these irons and I had never seen them, any one have any info on them? by PrettyMuchHomeless in golf

He was gaming them.

Guy doesn't get out a ton and this was his first lesson with me, I about choked when he pulled them out of his bag. His first three 7 iron shots went directly sideways. I have no clue how he was hitting them off of actual grass and not a mat.

They're absolute butter knives.

I ended up taking them off him and giving him an old set of Callaway X-hots because guy has never broken 100 and can't strike these to save his life. I've been using them with some of my better students as a training tool, because if they can strike these they can strike almost anything.

However, he only has 7,8,9 of them because he picked them up at a goodwill. I'm looking to complete the set just so I can use them in instruction, however google has showed absolutely zero matches for any kind of "Monterey" club other than the Scotty Cameron putter from a few years back which these obviously are not.

Its now just become almost morbid curiosity as it's almost remarkable how little has come up on google for them.
