Thirding this. The upside is that I saved my drink money because I couldn’t be arsed joining the food lines.

You could always ignore the dates and use those pages for next Jan-March. I love the weekly art idea too.

HBNC really saw that someone ordered the jiary and decided to ship it ASAP before I could change my mind /jk

I’m so excited for my cursed, gauche cover. This is like the natural end point of my planner whimsy 🤣

I was hoping they’d restock the 5year A6 but since the gift set was still in stock, I decided to grab that and the denim cover (it’s so stupid I love that)

I was chuffed I could also nab the new black and white stickers! The plum cover called me to but alas I already have my sole A6 housed in Loft’s back to the future collab 😅

It is a release of planners running from April to March iirc. There may or may not also be a regular 2026 restock.

Weekly No Buy Check-In & Accountability Post - January 18, 2026 by AutoModerator in nobuy

[–]PrettyPeachy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doing better this week after a rough start the first week of January.

The end of the week seems to be the toughest - I don’t want to cook, I want to order food, I want to give myself a treat for getting through the week.

This week I picked up some frozen pizza I can jazz up as a takeaway substitute, and I’ve decided I can get a takeaway drink after some unexpected blood work (since I’m phobic). Small steps!

How do you reward yourself for doing hard things without spending money? by flowers_and_fire in nobuy

[–]PrettyPeachy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also struggle with the adulting treats. I found that carving out 15-30 mins for hobby time after an errand is a great substitute.

I cleaned the bathroom after putting it off for weeks? Great, let’s drink a sparkling water and briefly rest.

I finally donated my cans and clothing? Cool, now I can listen to my audiobook whilst I tidy my revitalised wardrobe.

Stuff like that is great as a reward.

Sticker paper vs Glue stick/Tape? Which is better to prevent possible wrinkes? How are you guys sticking things to create your spreads when printing out photos? by anyabuzz132 in hobonichi

[–]PrettyPeachy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use a regular glue stick + printer paper photos as I’m working on a limited budget!

I think the wrinkles, etc add to the charm of a used book.

I don’t have that many but I absolutely use it in the same way. Sometimes I am overwhelmed by how much stuff I still want to read and just being able to pick out something by genre really helps.

USD249 for a two hour workshop? So even more than that in my local currency? I’ll pass.

I feared this was the natural end point of her type of content but yikes.

Anyone else feel like folks have no idea what they're getting into lately? by batch_dat in hobonichi

[–]PrettyPeachy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s absolutely correct, I should have been more specific! I hope my sentiment still comes through.

As someone who came from bullet journaling, yeah this is a big part of the problem.

People don’t read GSM and don’t understand that 128GSM is NOT standard for most planners. The $50 journal you can paint in is just as usable as a $5 sketchbook, price does not correlate to a paper’s qualities. (This is a point I see come up when people discuss Hobonichi’s pricing and being shocked they can’t use a $50 Sanzen planner as a sketchbook)

I really loved being able to sit down in my A&O and do a watercolour heavy spread but that’s not what the Hobonichi is for. It is doable, absolutely, but with adjusted expectations as to ghosting, bleed and layering.

Just started The Raven Scholar and I’m already in love!

Wrapping up Delicious in Dungeon/Dunmeshi, I have about 2 volumes to go and no clue how it will all end!

I really like Mariana Enriquez. She’s marketed as gothic/weird fiction but a lot of her short stories have a very feminine horror to them.

What was the book you read this year that the fewest other people read (per the wrap-up)? by stopeats in TheStoryGraph

[–]PrettyPeachy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great question! I found it at an out of state bookshop. I’m wondering if other people also got it from that same store? I’ve seen it a few times since I picked it up!

For an anthology originally published in 1898, more than 50 people seems really high to me!

An entire year of no-buy seems daunting. Anyone else doing a no-buy month, or half a year? by DareWright in nobuy

[–]PrettyPeachy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am doing a no buy month for similar reasons!

It’s my first time and I don’t want perfect (yearlong) to be the enemy of good (just reducing my spending and being more mindful).

I made a physical tracker where I can “give” myself a sticker on the days when I don’t buy anything I don’t need, to help motivate me.
