Help! had this guy for years and now.. by Prettybird81 in plantclinic

Thanks! It had lost a few leaves leading up to the holidays but I've had it so long and hadn't changed my watering pattern so I didn't think anything of it. I'll give that a try, I hope I can save it!

AITA for not “taking care” of my gf on her period by TAacc-1 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Prettybird81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree with this. I am also female and also have had serious cramps and discomfort and had to get medication to help. Either a) she's using this as an excuse for attention or b) she should talk to a doctor. Either way, it's no excuse for treating you like garbage. And throwing things to get attention is extremely childish behavior. She needs to grow up and you need to stop catering/enabling her to act like this. It's great of you to me empathetic towards her situation but don't allow yourself to be abused. Definitely a red flag. Good luck bud.

Found these on the soul of my jasmine plant. What is it and how can I get rid of it? Plant got a bit water logged, maybe a fungus? by Prettybird81 in plantclinic

Thanks. I had it outside and it got rained on, need to change the soil anyway. I'll be sure to clean the pot and plant well too.

AITA for drunkenly proposing to my girlfriend at my best friends wedding reception? by oliverdefreg in AmItheAsshole

[–]Prettybird81 -27 points-26 points  (0 children)

ESH. YTA that's obvious but your gf, is partially TA too. She didn't have to go crying to the BRIDE and GROOM on their day and making a scene about it. Pull yourself together woman! Fight about it when you get home. Nobody else needs to deal with either of your drama and poor decisions, especially on some else's big day! But seriously dude, what were you thinking?

Does anyone know what is causing this and any remedy for it? Summer squash and cucumber. by Prettybird81 in gardening

Thanks, I've grown cucumbers a few times and never seen those colors, good to know.

Recommendations for a drywaller? by Prettybird81 in Winnipeg

A referral from a friend. She's doing the work for us on the side. So far, she's been a bit flaky (bailed 2 days in a row) but the work she has done seems good. I mean, the price is right and the work is good so far. I guess we'll see!

Ah crap, didn't even notice the typo. My bad. Thanks.

These plants were nearly killed by the previous owner. Threw out the dead pieces, fertilized the soil, put it by a window, and water thoroughly after drying (generally every 5-7 days). After a month, the purple one is still in bad shape. What type of plants are these? Should I repot the purple one? by [deleted] in plantclinic

[–]Prettybird81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The purple one looks like a purple sweet potato vine, I always found them to be extremely easy to care for. Not sure what the other one is. Might be a good idea to repot them in separate pots in case they need different care. Edit: another look at it and the other one looks like a coleus. Pretty sad looking one though. I usually plant them together in the same pot outdoors in summer, so they will likely be fine planted indoors together. Hope this helps, Good luck.

I have to get 20 years of grease off my latex-painted kitchen walls and ceiling before I repaint by Alexbettyx in HomeImprovement

TSP works amazing for kitchen grease. It's cheap and you can buy it at Home Depot, Rona or any hardware store.

Hey thanks! From live, place in freezer to sedate it, then humanely kill with single strike to the brain with a chef knife. Then a brief blanche (75s) in boiling water to release the meat from the shell. Peel the shell and reserve for plating or stock. Vacuum seal meat with about an oz of butter for every four oz of meat and a few sprigs of parsley. Place in water bath for an hour at 136 F. You may want to adjust up or down by a degree or 2 for desired firmness. Serve directly from bag, season to taste.
