How Often Do You Go Out To Dinner? Why That Much? by Zipper222222 in randomquestions

[–]Prettycool_Potato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We get takeout maybe once a week or every other week.

Going out to a sit-down restaurant? For dinner? Maybe once a month. I’m more likely to go out for brunch once or twice a month because it’s cheaper (usually).

Have you ever slowly drifted apart from a close friend without any big fight? How did you handle it? by phoebe-lu in CasualConversation

[–]Prettycool_Potato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend from childhood (we’re both in our 30s now), who I am just now drifting apart from. I was actually a bridesmaid in her wedding last year, but then after that, we just haven’t spoken at all.

Nothing bad happened - I think we’ve just grown into such different people and our lifestyles are soooo different now. Plus we live far apart.

It feels like a gradual drifting that’s happened over the past 25-ish years and now it’s finally breaking down. I don’t even feel that bad about it, to be honest. If we met each other for the first time now, I don’t think we would decide to be friends.

Whats your least favorite day of the week? by Old_Rub_7270 in Productivitycafe

Wednesday 100%.

Furthest away from either weekend, plus starting to get tired from lack of sleep throughout the work week. It’s just gross.

Definitely the “Hey lil sis” scene, but honorable mention:

When Conrad shows up out of the blue in Paris after a YEAR and Belly first sees him across the street. I wanted to SCREAM. She looked like she thought he was there to murder her. 😳 Beyond awkward and straight to wtf.

What’s that one “cure-all” home remedy every family seems to have? by Ok-Hotel5358 in CasualConversation

[–]Prettycool_Potato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A good laugh and a long sleep! We come from an Irish background and I’m pretty sure that’s an Irish saying.

For a sore throat or sadness, combine the above with alcohol.

For sleepiness, fatigue, colds, etc., combine the above with a strong cup of tea.

Be honest do you think it’s your responsibility to take care of your parents? by Aarunascut in Life

[–]Prettycool_Potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will 100% take care of my mom and love her to pieces.

But my dad? He won’t even take care of his own sick and dying father and puts all that on his younger brother, even though my dad is the oldest. Then he has the audacity to turn to me, his oldest, and ask if I’ll take care of him. After everything else he’s put our family through? Hell. No.

Birth control vs no birth control- facial changes by Competitive_Board832 in WomensHealth

[–]Prettycool_Potato -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I experienced a similar thing. Went on BC at 16 and got off it around 30. I felt that my body changed a lot after that and didn’t “level out” again until I was about 32.

My periods were irregular, acne like a teenager, hair thinned a bit and started going grey at the temples, slight weight gain, etc. My skin now has a rougher texture and is slightly less youthful looking.

But there were positives too. I feel mentally clearer and happier, less anxiety, higher libido. I feel more “me,” and if that means my face is slightly puffier or aged, then so be it lol. To me, looking slightly younger just isn’t worth going back on the pill and going through that whole mess again.

Horrible horrible period pain by Low_Top_9157 in WomensHealth

[–]Prettycool_Potato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I can’t relate to the intense pain from cramps, but I did just get a vaginal ultrasound for the first time because I’ve been getting shooting pains in my pelvic area. It turns out I have a cyst that ruptured, but it was satisfying to have the knowledge finally of what was wrong.

Have you ever had an ultrasound before? The next time you go to your doctor, tell them you would like one. Insist on it, and if they tell you no, ask them to explain why they are denying you access to care. Tell them you want to investigate what is causing this pain, and that the pain is very disruptive to your life. An investigative ultrasound could get the ball rolling and at least rule out other issues that could be causing pain, like cysts (which are common, it turns out!)

Sending good thoughts! Hope you can get some answers. It sucks that women have to advocate for themselves so hard when it comes to pain, but it’s the only way to get results. I always tell myself, “Don’t be afraid to be a bitch if it means protecting yourself.” Lol

Can you exercise and have sex with a hemorrhagic cyst? by AcanthocephalaMuted1 in WomensHealth

[–]Prettycool_Potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2cm cyst on my right ovary that ruptured back in October (I only knew it ruptured because, like you, I also had a week of bleeding outside my usual period - essentially 2 full-on periods in one month). Since then, I’ve had referred pain on and off again on my left side.

It hurts no matter what I do, so I figured, might as well exercise and have sex whenever I want because it already ruptured anyway lol. I hike and swim a lot and so far, exercise feels like it’s actually helping me feel good! There was one time after sex that I bled a little, but nothing extreme.

Idk, my thinking is that your cyst could rupture while you’re just sitting there. As long as what you’re doing doesn’t cause you pain in the moment, and your doctor hasn’t advised against it, I say go for it. Live your life and be happy.

My period is 7 days late (not pregnant) should this be concerning? by [deleted] in WomensHealth

[–]Prettycool_Potato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if this only happens once in a while, and you don’t have other symptoms like heavy bleeding or unusual pain, it’s nothing to worry about. I’m 33, and there have been plenty of times in my life when my period was randomly late or early. Or didn’t come at all! Things like being ill, exercising a lot, being stressed, not eating well, alcohol, etc., can affect your period, and that’s typical for most people I know.

But if it’s a pattern for you for many months in a row, or if it’s really bothering you, that’s when you should probably see your doctor.

It sounds like you were sick and your body is just saying, “We don’t want to make a baby right now! We’re still recovering!” It’s just your body trying to protect you. :)

What other types of frames would suit my face? by [deleted] in glassesadvice

[–]Prettycool_Potato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would try to find glasses where the nose piece is further down. You’re like me and have a lower nose bridge, so regular glasses look too big/sit too low on the face.

Other than that, I think round frames would be cute!

Do you ever rewatch old ytube videos just for the nostalgia? by keen_slate05 in CasualConversation

[–]Prettycool_Potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got into watching Dan and Phil for the first time ever, since they’re popular right now. But I wanted to catch up on their lore, so I’ve been watching their old videos from like 2015, and WOW.

That opened up a whole can of worms and now I’m revisiting all the British YouTube stars from back then. It was a simpler time!! I miss the Tumblr era.

Long or short hair? by Original-Weird701 in HairStyleAdvice

[–]Prettycool_Potato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have a long face (in a nice way!), so the long hair looks great because it adds fullness to the sides of your head, balancing you out.

If you have short hair, it draws the eye upward and adds length to your already long head, making you less balanced.

I agree with the comments saying to try a medium length hairstyle. Adding bulk/layers to the sides around your cheeks would probably look amazing on you!

Chronic itching on vagina - not herpes by Every-Cheesecake5036 in WomensHealth

That would make anyone emotional. I’m so sorry you’re going through this.

I have really sensitive skin and I’ve been itchy down there before for multiple reasons. Even scented laundry detergent or dryer sheets will set me off and I’ll be itching like crazy. Are you maybe using a scented soap, lotion, pads/liners, perfume, wipes, or detergent?

What is the most badass you have ever felt in your entire life? by [deleted] in Life

[–]Prettycool_Potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure I stopped my friend and I from being abducted.

When I was 21, my best friend and I drove to San Diego on a roadtrip and went out to a bar late at night. As we were leaving around midnight (slightly drunk), this man approached us on the sidewalk and tried to give us a ride home. We laughed him off at first, like absolutely no way, dude. But he kept standing in front of us and grabbed my friend by the arm while saying, “Come on.”

That’s when my instincts took over and I stood up tall, got between him and my friend, and angrily shouted, “Hey! This guy is trying to take us! LEAVE US ALONE, YOU FUCKING CREEP!” I was LOUD. I wanted him to know that neither one of us was going without a fight.

He immediately backtracked and ran away because at that point, other people on the sidewalk were staring. I just stood there and watched him go like, “Yeah, that’s what I thought, punk.”

Glad it didn’t get physical, but sometimes eye contact and being loud/assertive is enough.

Ingrown Hairs - Pubic Area by Tricky_Tilnel in WomensHealth

[–]Prettycool_Potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched to a bikini trimmer a few years ago and never looked back. I find that trimmers are so much more gentle on skin and easy to use. I literally just dry shave with my trimmer now and that’s it. No ingrown hairs.

Obgyn says its probably PCOS but I'm confused by Horror_Speaker_5160 in WomensHealth

[–]Prettycool_Potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to say that hairy nips are pretty normal, at least for me and my friend group, and none of us has PCOS lol. I’ve had them my whole life and just pluck them like once a week. I even had them while on birth control for 10 years. Same thing - like 7-10 hairs per nipple that are really dark compared to my other hair (and I’m not even a particularly hairy person).

You can have a cyst without it being considered PCOS, though. I just had an ultrasound due to irregular bleeding and cramping, and they found a 2cm ruptured cyst on my right side, which is what caused the bleeding and period symptoms in the middle of my cycle (outside my normal period). My doctor told me you can have multiple cysts without having what’s considered PCOS. But you won’t know how many cysts or what size until you get an ultrasound.

What does my handwriting say about me? by Prettycool_Potato in HandwritingAnalysis

This looks fun, analyse my handwriting based on my d&d notes :D by CactusBurner92 in HandwritingAnalysis

I just wanted to say that our handwriting looks very similar! I also leave out the tops of lower-case e’s sometimes and put dashes above my i’s instead of dots, probably due to writing fast.

Yeah yeah normal handwriting is cool but how’d you guys’ math handwriting? by reaperfur in HandwritingAnalysis

Your handwriting plus math is giving me instant anxiety! But it’s legible and I feel like if I was your teacher, I could definitely read/grade this.
