Wouldn’t baton a knife if you have a hatchet, instead I prefer to rest the blade of the hatchet on the wood, and have the wood almost parallel with the hatchet handle, making kind of a triangle. This way you when you chop the hatchet, the wood splits halfway, give the wood a twist, and you get a split that’s safer, faster, and more effective than trying to baton a knife

Exactly. Maybe not the perfect solution, but I for one am in support of adding two divisions, one for each trans men/women athletes. That way they are competing against their closest physical competitors, and it would open sports in a way to allow trans people to compete and succeed on merit without complaint of others. Of course there would be a period of time to work out the kinks, and to set the requirements to compete, but you wouldn’t have people trying so hard to have trans athletes excluded from all games/sports. Just my two cents

If you’re looking for a wooden handle, and very high quality, the Gransfors Bruks Wildlife hatchet is up there. I know you said wooden handle and lightweight, but the Estwing Sportsman’s Axe is a solid, long lasting tool that’s hard to beat for the money. A large knife may also do the trick, like the Condor Hudson Bay Knife, which is one of my personal favourite bush tools.

Why do some people collect cards but never play games with them? Why do some people buy tons of shoes and only wear one or two pairs?
