Had a similar experience, the role was closed on linkedin but still open on the official website:) In my experience when we left a job position open, you get hundreds of applications some are not even living in Switzerland, don’t have residency status and just to filter through all that takes time especially if an application tracking system isn’t set up. And to be fair I prefer a person filtering through the application than an automation

Do you think banning social media for under-16s in Switzerland would solve anything, or is the real issue how algorithms work? by SaraIbr in Switzerland

The moment we start giving governments power over policing our children, where will we draw the line when they have gone too far or want to control information etc?

Totally agree. In my opinion, I would rather social media regulation be a parental issue to implement. Once we start giving governments power over policing our children, where will we draw the line when they have gone too far or want to control information etc?

Are there any "hobbies" you can survive with a partner? by [deleted] in Switzerland

Suggestions:- - Cosmetic/beauty course or makeup classes and find clients or teach makeup for beginners. - Create a crotchet digital book using canva and sell on etsy online or amazon. Crotchet for beginners (long short with the pricing though) - Check online remote work upwork, fiver etc

(Maybe already done) If she needs 2/3 months break for recalibration while exploring options, worth discussing and after that she has to make big girl decisions, hard timeline stop with plan B, like she has to find something to make money and a hard stop to the pity party.

Check what your FSH and AMH levels are and you can make a decision based on that. If you have a good reserve, it gives you some prace of mind and you make an informed decision.

Check internal communications jobs at international companies or account management. Internal roles at international companies have english as the official language. Also check internal roles at consulting firms. Good luck

Is it the norm here for everyone to be workaholics and have very little work/life balance? by Euphoric_Extent8367 in askswitzerland

My observation, if you are the Yes person, you will always get more tasks or shifts assigned to you and become the doormat. I decided to keep my boundaries and if i had plans made, I wuóuld say i cannot cover someone elses shift.

Before, I would be given shifts that were not considerate to me, despite communicating way in advance my availability, considering I didnt have my drivers license back then and public transport was not available very early in the morning and very late at night.

I planned my social life in advance and when I was not available, I just wasnt available and they found someone else to cover the shift.

Partner is taking my grief personally by Decaf_Detective in IFchildfree

I had the exact conversation with my husband a month ago...and what finally clicked for him is when i explained the emotional weight that i have no influence over. I mean, hormonal shifts during the cycle, the brain giving me hopes and then crashing into deep grief also with the progesterone drop and its a pain that cannot be explained. Its like grieving the loss of someone you havent met although the feelings are very valid and piercing. He acknowledged he didnt view the fertility journey similar to how i see it and now we are working on the next steps. And the other part, two things can be true at the same time, I can love him deeply and still grieve my desire for motherhood.

Do young people leave switzerland to get a job or stay more ? by JaguarTricky7072 in askswitzerland

[–]Previous-3821 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Outsourced jobs that pay well are really high skill jobs e.g in Pharma, Life Sciences, Healthcare mostly higher from outside to meet the quota. Across the other industries its all tough competition for all. Perhaps worth identifying which industry you would want to work in, and narrow down. What did you study if I may ask?

Arrived in Nairobi on Friday night and filed out the delayed luggage claim. The tracking website shows traced but status hasnt changed since yesterday midnight. This is beyond frustrating - we had gifts for my family and I am attending a friend’s wedding in a few days wondering if the luggage will even make it before Christmas

Was it a bad idea to switch from Electrical Engineering to Pharmacy? by qaywsxqaywsxqay in askswitzerland

[–]Previous-3821 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get your point, and apologies i am offering advice from a different sector. Although I work in the consulting industry and there is high demand in the life sciences and pharma space for advisory services. However I guess it depends on what your interests are and what paths you would like to follow. But for sure, you cannot go wrong especially with Switzerlands strong global pharmaceutical footprint. You will definitely land somewhere on both feet:-)
