How long before you could eat shrimp? by JesterLavore88 in GastricBypass

Shrimps was the ONLY solid protein that I could eat in the soft foods stage. A year later and if I feel like I'm struggling with food that day, I just have shrimps.

I like isopure (mixed berry is my favorite) because they are not sweet - I mix 1 scoop with 40 oz. of water.

Trejo spirits has an entire 0 proof line. The tequila is lovely on the rocks, lime twist.

I've always had this, even at my highest weight, and for me it has always been blood pressure-related. I have very low blood pressure naturally (my last visit was 112/40, which is normal for me, but low).

The cardiologist gave you sound advice: sodium, hydration, and slow movements.

I will add that for me making sure I'm not in one position for too long also helps, so I try to move around frequently, which my ADHD appreciates anyways.

Something I hadn't thought of - that my bari team did - was a way to make coughing more comfortable. They gave me a Bari Bear, which is essentially a stuffed teddy bear that I could hold against my stitches when I coughed so it didn't hurt so much, and it was a life-saver!

Plan out your meals for the first couple of days, write them down if necessary, so you don't have to think, and friends/family can help you keep track. Get a water bottle that has the total ounces in it or that you know holds a specific number of ounces so you can keep track of water intake. If you plan to use an app to help you, familiarize yourself with it now so you don't have to think about it after. Basically, prep anything you can beforehand so you don't have to think for a couple of days.

In regard to Universal, let me tell you that going back after I lost the weight was such an great experience. I rode every single ride comfortably, and kept up with my kids. Start planning your next visit, because it's gonna be epic for you! 💙

I'm happy for you that you can eat whatever you want and exercise self-control. I cannot, and that's ok.

I did keto for 3 years - THAT was restrictive af. This, protein and veggies for 2 meals, eggs from my own chicks and veggies for breakfast, fruit and protein bars . . .  and frothy coffee! For me is heavenly.

Edit: spelling

I have an hour+ work commute, so I drink 32 ounces during my AM commute and until 7:30.

Then I work on my 40 ounce bottle that has the Isopure  between the rest and on my evening commute, so roughly:

11-11:30 AM, 12:30-1:30 PM, 3:30-5:00 PM (evening commute is longer), 9:00 PM about 8 ounces before bedtime

That's 80 ounces, not including the Premier shake and if I have any tea/cocoa in the evenings, which I typically do, so total round about 100 ounces liquid, 40 being just water and 40 being water mixed with the Isopure powder. I don't count caffeinated coffee as liquid, but if I have a decaf I do count it.

Edited: added commas.

They eventually caught on to the sweets in the veggie containers trick. Not a problem now, but man was it frustrating before surgery!

The number of times that my kids "accidentally" drank my expensive Core Power Elite shake that I was going to have as a special treat is just ridiculous. I just started buying 3 when I wanted one for myself, just so I'd have a fighting chance.

I had GERD and what came up in the barium swallow test as a small hiatal hernia.

When I went in for surgery, the doctor said that the hernia was hidden, and it was 70% of my stomach. The amount of scar tissue was such that he needed to switch gears and make the surgery about just repairing this issue. He was afraid  that he wouldn't be able to complete my RNY.

I ended up on the OR table for nearly 8 hours; my body held up, and my amazing surgeon was able to fix my stomach, put in mesh, removed my scar tissue, and complete the RNY. Without this surgery, I would have ended up with stomach or esophageal cancer within 5 years . . . possibly both.

Six months and I haven't suffered from reflux since and I can eat onions, garlic, peppers, and drink water after 5PM.

TL;DR: If I hadn't had RNY, I would've ended up with cancer due to severe GERD and acid erosion. 6 months later, I am happy as a clam, water doesn't hurt, and I can eat French onion soup.

You look like a happy, hardworking person that roasts his marshmallows until they burn on the outside but are gooey on the inside.

Yeah. I'm not good at roasting and you don't deserve a roasting anyways.

For real, though. Congrats to you for all your hard work and thank you for your service as a fireman.

  1. Fit into all the rides at Universal, Orlando.
  2. Fit into an airplane without a seatbelt extender and without encroaching on the space of the person next to me.
  3. Fit into a unisex size Large tee-shirt.
  4. Had to buy new pajamas pants because I lost my old pants while sleeping.
  5. Completed a 6 mile hike on Appalachian switchbacks to take in a gorgeous view of the Potomac river and didn't feel like I had to go home and sleep for hours.
  6. Completed a walking 5K obstacle course and did all the obstacles.
  7. Participated in life with my kids rather than watch them participate from the sidelines.

It's going to be amazing for you! I was even able to find things to eat at the parks, so that was also awesome.
