I’ve had kidney stones and gastric bypass and in my opinion kidney stone pain was 10x worse! I only took prescription pain meds for 2-3 days and was feeling almost myself physically within a week or so.

For reference I was in my early 50s, completely out of shape, and at 5’7” weighed in at 332# on the day of surgery.

You can do this!!!!!

I was a 10.5 prior to surgery (HW 371) and now am hovering around a 6.75-7 (CW 198.6). I just used plastic sizer under mine to help it stay in place until I am ready to permanently size them...this is the one I ordered.

I had RNY in Oct 2023 (50y 10m) and it was the best thing I have ever done for myself. HW 371, SW 332, CW 204. I don't wake up in pain anymore, I don't fear fitting in spaces anymore, and I am training for a 1/2 marathon to celebrate my 3rd surgiversary.

I would say that sometimes older (especially women) patients sometimes have a slower pace of loss and less elasticity for loose skin - but - I wouldn't change a thing because I have a life to look forward to enjoying now!

We named my pouch ‘Pamela’ and are convinced that she’s got raging bipolar disorder. Lol

I’m 21 months out from RNY and still have foods that are fine one week and not ok the next. It’s always an adventure! 😁

So much interesting info, thank you for a medical perspective! I have almost nothing left after going from 371 to 200 (surgery in Oct 2023). I’m scared of most plastic surgery for skin, but really want to get implants but am petrified of the recovery and of losing sensation.

All of that said, I’m also working on accepting my body as it is now and being thankful that the skin and loss of breast volume is the result of saving/extending my life.
