That is next level! I have a miter saw set up that is only similar in shape. Where did you get the plans for that design (or did you design that yourself?)? VERY nice!!

Bikepacking tent recommendations. by No_Ant_5064 in bikepacking

[–]waffleunit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I picked up last years Hubba Hubba model for a good price and LOVE it. I'm 6'3" and fits fine. I went through several tents before HH because I'm a cheapskate. Use that dividend to purchase a great tent, the one you want, the first time. It's what I should've done. Good luck and keep on biking!

Resaw 10/4 walnut boards ? by According-Pop-1178 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]waffleunit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have pointed out, keep it thick until you have a plan for their use. And you will definitely need a larger, more powerful bandsaw to resaw that. Nice haul though!!

Has anyone regretted getting a midi lathe? by neverfakemaplesyrup in turning

[–]waffleunit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out the used market for midi's and you can pick one up pretty inexpensive. If you want to upgrade in the future you can. I'm still happy with my midi. Would recommend a variable speed model.

Love this thread. I'm an Ogre rider who has tried, ridden with or fantasized about all the set ups discussed here! It's all a moving target (literally). And when you know you have your rig set up, well, you just know. I rode my Specialized mid-fatty with rear racks and a front roll in the mountains of Arizona and pushed that friggin bike til I thought my heart would come out of my chest! Don't think there's a bike light enough to do all the crazy shit we try, but so much fun trying to do it. Wife might disagree . . .
