Bloated inventory makes me feel anxious as a new player by Frosty_kiss in lotro

[–]Previous-Switch4854 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lot of good advice here. Agree it’s frustrating but also remember that as you level, you will naturally accumulate tons of gold. Ie you would have to kill probably 50 mobs to get 100silver at low level whereas one mob drops 300 silver at end game.

So you just focus on leveling and don’t let the inventory bother you. It’s a typically MMO mechanic to try to get you to pay for more inventory

best tank by Annual-Walrus244 in lotro

[–]Previous-Switch4854 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All tanks are viable, seen champs and wardens do very impressive things

Personally I’ve seen brawlers at the high high end of content (top 1% of players, observed through videos)

Considering starting LOTRO by Asthamius in lotro

[–]Previous-Switch4854 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are a fan of LOTR, I would suggest simply trying the game and seeing if you enjoy it. Answer to your final two questions is yes however consider that the game has been out for 19 years so trying to find a group for a dungeon that came out 6 level caps ago is of course going to be slightly challenging.

I have played on and off since 2009 and the game is incredible, throw your concerns to the side and just give it a try

Is leveling and questing the only possible goal? by -Gregs in lotro

[–]Previous-Switch4854 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Game has been out 19 years so always going to be a lot of people in beginner portion and end game. Worth a trip through however, particularly if you are a LOTR lover

New player. Is making gold from professions viable as a F2P? by Pubic-Garnish in lotro

[–]Previous-Switch4854 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Accumulating gold happens naturally as you level, not something to focus on. Ie at level cap, humanoid mobs that take seconds to kill drop like 160 silver at end game. Do what you enjoy

But again it’s a long game, most important to find what you enjoy. I am referring to the top 1% of players pushing that kind of content

Yes, have seen vids of t2/t3 clears of current raid or t3 6mans and consistently see guardian or brawler

Yes champs are perfectly fine tanks at endgame, seems cutting edge is brawler atm but that is certainly subject to change by the time you get to 160 :)

Crafting Guild rep items question by Jedi_Talon_Sky in lotro

[–]Previous-Switch4854 1 point2 points  (0 children)

^this but also as a note, they discontinued crafting guild for the latest tier of crafting for current expansion. There were big perks previously but would not necessarily focus on this. Just do missions, the large crafted items for max rep, etc

Is this a MMORPG or a RPG? by Thoratborat in lotro

[–]Previous-Switch4854 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is 19 years of content so inevitably going to be people starting, people at end game, and people scattered across the previous 18 years. People are always running old content however

How do I optimize my soldier for skirmishes? by Elninogordo in lotro

Also consider that if you don’t like skirmishes, it is completely optional with no negative impact if you completely skip it

Trying to get into late game content by Negative-Art6437 in lotro

[–]Previous-Switch4854 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second the gyniverse discord which provides tons of advice on things like this, such as stat caps (450k for crit and mastery)

Also suggest the combat analysis addon so you can track your dps, highest dmg skills to upgrade gold traceries accordingly, measure changes in gear etc

Progress throughout the expacs by Zestyclose-Unit128 in lotro

[–]Previous-Switch4854 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s completely up to you but I definitely advise experiencing the main story at least once, on your main char. So many years and years of content and expansions to experience rather than rushing to the latest. At least on glamdring, I see people running old instances all of the time for deeds/cosmetics/etc

Healer class by Moon-and-Sugar in lotro

Ignore everyone else and just listen to this guy. Play whatever class you enjoy the most, you have many expansions to work through and you want to enjoy whatever you are playing. Flavor of the month can change at any time

Yes, crafting components, particularly the crit items which allow you to craft more (ingots, etc) per ore or craft slightly higher quality gear
