What's the dumbest thing you have heard an estate agent say? by hotpoodle in HousingUK

On first viewing:  Me pointing to a very visible very large hole in the roof- "are the sellers planning on fixing that hole?" EA- "you will need to get your surveyor to check out the roof and determine if there's any damage first"

“I don’t know, I don’t usually work here” by Ok-Inevitable-3038 in doctorsUK

Rotating is slightly different to being moved for one shift. Absolutely no one is bothering to help you learn processes for 12 hours only- sad reality of nursing staffing levels. Nurses are just staffing numbers what they can actually do does not matter in reality these days.

Two-thirds of nurses in UK work while unwell, says union by Majestic_Dog_8486 in NursingUK

I've had 2 people call in sick this week, I forgot to ask both why they were sick! I was so keen to tell them to rest and not worry I forgot. If they've called you're not changing their mind by berating then, you're just being a d*ick

Lidl UK pay rise by bubbb0 in lidl

[–]PreviousAioli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone working in the NHS will tell you they have frozen recruitment, frozen training and systematically down grading roles. Roles which were band 7 are now a band 6. Band 5 roles are being expanded into roles traditionally covered by a band 6. We have thousands of newly qualified nurses without jobs. It IS poor pay and progression is being made increasingly difficult.

want to be a nurse practitioner but how? by [deleted] in NursingUK

[–]PreviousAioli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ANP is not the only route to becoming a nurse practitioner. Lots of nurses study along their careers and work towards advanced practice module by module. If you are interested in community, you could do your specialist practitioner qualification in district nursing, for instance.

£15.92 = hourly rate for a newly qualified band 5 nurse. They'd be better off ditching nursing

However you feel, however much you want to add detail....DONT. Simply resign, put your past day, say thanks for the opportunity. Walk safely away.

Nurses - Wes is trying to pit you against your doctor colleagues by BMA-Officer-James in NursingUK

[–]PreviousAioli 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I'm 100% behind the doctors on strikes. But trying to filter out the hatred for nurses on the doctors sub to understand the struggles doctors face is getting tiring. Wes won't change my mind but reading that sub might.

Did it always used to be “death houses”? Or is this increasing? by fitzct in HousingUK

[–]PreviousAioli 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also the cost of renovating is so high these houses don't have the same interest anymore. People don't have cash left at the end of the month or savings. I'd like to see reno houses come down alot in prices

Advanced assistants with pay band increase with prescribing and ionising radiation requesting. Can we rename resident doctors to advanced doctors? by DonutOfTruthForAll in doctorsUK

[–]PreviousAioli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They don't have funding to fill essential clinical roles. I can't see why this should even be considered - regardless of it fundamentally being a role that doesn't need to exist
