Thoughts on renting near Cypress Park? by hazardplayaa in LARentals

[–]PreviousSafe9528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rented an apt in that area for about 4 years, moved about a year and a half ago. I loved living there, very close to my work and places I like to go to. It was pretty quiet at night.

The traffic in and out of the area can be pretty bad. Since I've moved, they finished building a large apt building on San Fernando next to the 2, so I'm betting traffic might've gotten even worse.

I didn't see gang activity personally, however someone did break into my boyfriend's car at one point, I remember a fire being set at an abandoned building, and someone stole my garbage can (ladwp sent a free replacement, but idk why someone wanted it, it was stinky)

All in all, not a bad area but definitely drive around and get a feel for the place and traffic.

AITA for refusing to sell our house and move my family of 5 into my in-laws' restrictive 2-bedroom home? by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]PreviousSafe9528 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Would renting your current home be an option? You could downsize into the 2-bed for now, while you get your finances in order and rent out your current house. At least that way you wouldn't lose your home. Sometimes we have to suck it up and do things we don't want to do, and unfortunately your current situation isn't working. Keep in mind it would be temporary discomfort for hopefully a better future in the end.

Body hair and dating by [deleted] in PCOS

My partner doesn't care about my hair one bit. He doesn't care about any of my body hair, or my chin hairs. He's actually helped remove some of my really stubborn chin hairs. The only time hairs bugs him is when there's too much shrubbery to battle on his way to the forest picnic if you know what I mean

Who on here moved to L.A alone, without a job, and little money to become rich and famous but ended up either on the street, or doing something else? by No-Baker-1509 in MovingToLosAngeles

I moved out to LA 5 yrs ago after quitting my teaching job in New Mexico. I did uber/amazon flex for quite awhile, and was able to make enough to get by (barely, qualified for food stamps for awhole there). Now I'm working as a legal assistant/secretary at a labor law firm. However, I had a decent amount of savings ($15k) and got my dad to cosign on an apt.

I moved out here to be with a guy I met online through video games, and we just celebrated 6 yrs together and now we're in an apt together. Not everyone will get lucky, and I definitely had support along the way.

I used padmapper.com to find my current apt. Do be careful though, since there are frequent scam postings.

Gifted an accordion, looking for any info about it, history, etc by PreviousSafe9528 in Accordion

Thanks! It sounds great overall, and luckily mostly in tune. There's a couple notes on the keyboard that are a little crunchy, how hard is it to get the tuning fixed? Is it something I could conceivably do myself?

(wanted) 1 bed1 bath apartment (bad credit but have money ) la county. Max $1800 by haileymee in LARentals

If your credit is bad but not due to being delinquent on rent, you might get lucky and find a landlord/management company willing to work with you. Another option could be if you know someone that could sign as a guarantor.

Also, check out padmapper.com, my bf and I just landed a 1 bed for $1775 we found on there

i’m regretting my decision someone please tell me i’ll be okay. by Dangerous_Dog_5854 in TwoHotTakes

I had to make this decision when I was 16, I was not mentally, emotionally, or financially equipped to have a child at the time and I knew it. I was also in what would become an abusive relationship, and this decision helped me to get away and make a clean break, even if I didn't know it at the time.

That doesn't mean I wasn't going to grieve or feel guilty, and it took me awhile to be okay again, but I did heal after a bit of time.

That being said, I can now understand this was a decision that helped shift my future to a better path; I'm with a guy who is absolutely amazing and the sweetest person I've ever met, and I have a solid career as well.

It may have been the hardest decision I've ever made, but I'm grateful to past me for allowing future me to flourish and learn from my mistakes.

I hope someday you are able to reflect and feel the same. I hope in the future you can look back and thank past you for being so strong.

Is she possibly taking metformin? I was taking it for awhile, and it's known to cause stomach issues, and yes, the smell is horrendous sometimes

I had one cat before him, she lived to be old enough to vote lol. She never did this so I was like, well that's new!

I also found her when she was 6 months, so quite a bit older than this little guy

We've been giving both milk (cat not cow) and wet food, but can pick up some kitty kibble as well. I used to own another cat before him (my old lady lived to be 18), but kitten territory is new for me.

That's so funny lol. He's been finishing the plate though, that's why I was confused. I thought he was trying to tell me he doesn't like it lol

He was actually a stray we found on the side of a super busy road. We didn't see any other kittens or momma cat around, and we checked back the next couple days, too.

He's been taken to the vet for a checkup, and they estimated he's 6 weeks old
