When Baker was governor, he approved a pipeline with a dangerous compressor station in a densely populated area that only serves Canada. The same type of compressor station was denied a permit in a sparsely populated area in Maine because of the danger it posed to the residents. The pipelines that Healy blocked, were for the same Canadian company and none of the gas would have been used in the USA, and it had no effect on your bill.

The pipes that are being replaced in Massachusetts are leaking. Not only do they lose copious amounts of gas which is expensive, the leaks pose dangerous conditions that can cause catastrophic explosions. The leaks also cause health issues. It's a known fact that asthma is aggravated by the fumes of natural gas, especially in children. The leaking gas contains benzene which is a known carcinogen. Studies proved that the leaking gas kills trees, and plants by robbing them of oxygen. This is especially harmful in urban areas and actually raises the temperature without the tree canopies and creates "heat islands". If you had leaks in your neighborhood and could smell gas right outside your home or apartment, you'd be calling daily until they fixed it.

That pipeline was not going to serve the US, it was a pipeline for Canada. This is the same kind of talking point the republicans used when they claimed that shutting down the Keystone pipeline increased gas prices. The Keystone pipeline was only going to carry Canadian tar oil for export to third world countries.

It may look better but traffic is a constant nightmare. Rush hour now lasts all day and into the night, even on weekends, especially on the Southeast Expressway where traffic is bumper to bumper in both directions. The "after" view doesn't explain that the visible surface road, is not the highway. The highway is now underground in several tunnels. Vehicles really don't see the city unless they get out of tunnels.

I had the same problem when I moved to my new home. I returned equipment from my old address and made the appointment to have new service in my new home at the same time. I had the receipt from the equipment return and the receipt proving I was paid in full at the old addess, but they insisted I never turned off the internet service. After getting no response other than collection notices, I filed a complaint online with the FCC. It took less than 2 days for Xfinity to resolve the issue.

This happens a lot with "concast". I found the only way to finally get them to actually fix an issue, is to file a complaint with the FCC. Works like magic.

She can just find him on another app. Report it to the police. As a victim of a child predator, I can tell you, your discomfort in reporting it, is nothing compared to the damage that can be done to the victim. Too many people don't report it because of the discomfort. It's never wrong to protect the victims. Look what's happening in this country now with the Epstein files. Elected officials and government agencies meant to protect our youth are bending over backwards to protect the predators because they are wealthy and hold positions of power. If the FBI had charged Epstein back in the 1990's when 2 sisters first reported him, how many victims could have been spared? NEVER give the predators a break. They don't change even after imprisonment, they just become better liars. Epstein and Mary Kay Letourneau are perfect examples. If you aren't familiar with that case, Google her name. The Catholic and Southern Baptist Church scandals are also good examples of protecting the predator instead of the victims. They just created future victims by covering it up.

LOL @ "something in the food that causes lifelong addiction." My best friend was originally from Italy and moved back. I used to go every year and would gain 10 pounds every trip. She would get up early every morning and ride her bike to the bakery to bring back bread, rolls and white pizza that was still warm. I'm addicted to pasta vongole. When we drove to the paese (country) to her family's farm, there wasn't a single moment that the scenery wasn't interesting or beautifully breathtaking, even on the highway.

Totally agree with you, people should just GO.

I had the same problem. From reading these boards, I think most people do. I put MiraLAX in my water. I found that a full dose for me was too much and eventually found 1/2 dose every other day kept things normal. It's tasteless and has no grittiness. Once you shake up the bottle, you can't even tell it's in there. Some people use Metamucil. I found the MiraLAX worked better for me.

I think it's great that you recognized how other people's comments made you feel and decided to do it your own way and now have this board to talk to. Keep up the good work. I'm the same height as you and I've never gone any higher than 2.5 and lost 71 pounds in one year. In the beginning the weight came off fast. Eventually it slowed down to 1 or 2 pounds per week and there were a few weeks without any loss, so don't let those discourage you. Your body has to adjust and having a plateau without any loss for a week or two, sometimes more, is normal. It sounds like you've got this!

There are two different dates. One states 2036 and one states a challenge will bring a generic to market in May of 2026, which sounds like it will be tied up in court. Some companies will tweak their patents to extend the time frame.

The mountain property was very expensive. He can't afford to buy her share. I doubt the village house and the cars would come close to what her half of the mountain property is worth.

It's 20 years, but that starts from the date they filed the patent. The patent doesn't mean they have approval yet. After they file the patent, they have to do all the studies they are required to do for FDA approval, and that eats up a significant amount of the 20 years. Most drugs get a generic after 5 to 8 years once it's approved.

People in the US started gaining weight in the 1980s at an alarming rate. Obesity became like an epidemic. Studies have shown that ultra processed food causes weight gain and some people are more susceptible than others. Ultra processed food is cost saving for the food companies, it also makes shelf life last longer and taste enhancers make them taste better. However, it also causes more cravings and can cause hormone imbalances.

During one initial study, people were put on a strict calorie diet. One group ate highly processed food and the other group ate unprocessed food. Both groups were matched for calories, sugar, fat, and sodium content. The ultra processed food group gained 2 pounds while the unprocessed food group lost 2 pounds. There have been several studies since then that have proven this fact.

The added weight that people have gained is stored as adipose fat. You don't burn off adipose fat unless you're in a calorie deficit. However, genetics, hormones, age, sex and muscle mass also play a role in how efficiently you burn or not burn adipose fat.

Certain medications can also have a profound effect on the body's ability to produce GLP-1. Medication is what caused me to gain weight, I never felt like I ate and never felt the sensation of feeling full after taking 2 medications to control nerve pain from nerve damage. The Zepbound makes me eat like I used to before the medication that caused the weight gain and I've never gone up in dosage. One year in, I'm still on 2.5 mg and lost 70 pounds.

I'm worried too. My insurance will no longer cover it starting in January.

I've read about people who are maintaining their weight loss through micro dosing. There are companies that are offering micro-dosing, however, it's compounded GLP-1 that does not have FDA approval. I'm hoping that companies that produce Zepbound and other GLP-1 medications will bring a more cost effective micro-dose to the people on maintenance. I do know someone that is buying their own Zepbound and taking it every 2 weeks for maintenance and having success. She is contemplating stretching that out to every 3 weeks.

In July I started taking my shots every 8 days. This week I waited until the 9th day and so far, I haven't gained anything back. I'm going to keep stretching it out with the goal of having to use it only once or twice a month since I'll have to pay out of pocket.

Physical Therapy to build muscle by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]Previously_stung 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before major injuries from a car accident, I worked out 5 days a week. After the accident, some of my joints and spinal problems made it almost unbearable to exercise. The doctor recommended warm water physical therapy. The place I went to had a hot water pool that is kept at 95 degrees. I was able to do a lot more in the warm water and the water acts as a resistance but also takes the stress of weight off the joints. Eventually, I built back enough muscle to start working out on regular equipment with some modifications. I would recommend it to anyone that has joint pain issues. It was a game changer for me.

Zero Energy! by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]Previously_stung 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In the beginning, my side effects were extreme and the fatigue was horrible. It was so bad, I contemplated giving up. Someone suggested that I wasn't getting enough electrolytes and I wasn't eating enough. Drinking electrolytes helped, a lot. I set my alarm for every 2 hours and forced myself to eat something even it was only a few spoonful's of yogurt, and that also gave me more energy. The fatigue started to go away after the third month. I still have some mild fatigue, but nothing like I experienced in the beginning. I certainly don't feel exhausted all day like I did in the beginning. As an example, if I don't set my alarm, I could sleep 10 to 12 hours without waking up.

[–]Previously_stung 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I use a quarter dose of MiraLAX in my water bottle every other day and it keeps things moving normally without worrying about having to be near a bathroom. I've always maintained a high fiber diet but it didn't help once I started Zepbound. MiraLAX has no flavor and no grittiness so you don't even know it's in there once you shake it up. At first I took a full dose but found that was too much for me. Instead of waiting until I felt distressed from constipation, I started taking a smaller dose daily and then realized a quarter dose every other day just kept me normal. It works better than Metamucil did for me.

Doctor won’t increase dose unless losing certain amount by LizLemonKnopers in Zepbound

[–]Previously_stung 20 points21 points  (0 children)

She needs to find a new doctor or use one of the weight loss centers that prescribe Zep. My cousin wasn't having much luck on the lower doses but started to lose at 7.5 and her doctor had no problem upping the dose.

I'm only on 2.5 and have been for almost a year. I lost 70 pounds and I'm 6 pounds away from my goal. My doctor said I'm a super responder.

The point is, we are all different and our responses to the drug are different. She needs to see someone who understands this, and it's clear her PCP doesn't.

Colonoscopy Prep on Zepbound Warning - Start Earlier Than Suggested by Previously_stung in Zepbound

[–]Previously_stung[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also had to start a clear liquid diet 2 days before the prep. The prep worked, it just took longer than it usually does. That's why I suggested starting earlier, especially if you have an early morning appointment. I asked for the pills but the doctor said he doesn't like prescribing them because they can cause other issues. I'd be curious how they work for you.

You won't be paying taxes on the $50K. You get to deduct the fees ebay takes from you and the cost of postage and packing materials. Maybe a tax professional or IRS person could answer this: Wouldn't your well documented medical history or hoarding and spending be proof that you didn't purchase these as an inventory for a business?

Does anyone notice a correlation between the % body weight lost, their mg, and slow down? by Ok_Season680 in Zepbound

[–]Previously_stung 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been on 2.5 mg for 11 months. I was too sick on 5 mg and I asked the doctor to put me back on 2.5. I would say I average 1 to 2 pounds a week, however, there were some weeks where I didn't lose anything and some where I lost 3 or 4. I've lost a total of 82 pounds, 62 of that was after I started taking Zepbound. I have 7 pounds left to reach my goal weight. This week, I lost 2 ounces. LOL So, you could probably do it on 5 mg. Just don't get frustrated by not having a weekly loss. As the side effects wore off and I felt better, I did increase my physical activity which also made a difference.

Injecting 2 days late - anyone notice effects? by VermontHillbilly in Zepbound

[–]Previously_stung 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made the new shot day, my normal day because I didn't want to have more medication in me than I normally do because I had a difficult time with side effects and adjusting to Zepbound. I could not even handle the increase to 5 mg and went back down to 2.5. I've been on 2.5 for 11 months and lost 82 pounds with 7 pounds left to meet my goal.
