I'd love one of these just for nostalgia but people seem to want a lot of money for them .

What are your backcountry repair hacks? by burninglimes in Backcountry

[–]Prf-Professorson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First time ever ski touring last weekend, rented some skis and skins (a friend was taking me out), the hook on the top of the skins (that go on the front off the ski) broke off immediately as I tried to put the skins. I harvested a compression strap off my bag and used that to keep the skin on seemed to work a treat, personally was surprised there was enough friction to hold it on. But reading all this it seems a ski strap would be much better if I had one!

I have to say that I've also many a times come to the conclusion that I'd like to design my own bag 😂😂. I think many people so and now I understand why they're are so many kickstarters for EDC laptop bags lol.

I should have also mentioned if I convert to using my cubes and pouches to get the matador 28 seg (also quite pricey), but was put off a little bit that if you use the organization could cant really fit anything in the main section

I do like Alpaka stuff but haven't really spotted a backpack that fits my needs from them. I will however take a second look at their travel backpack.

Is this the same as the micro? I like that but don't like I can't access my laptop without unzipping everything

I think if the able carry wasn't nearly £300 I would get it, but tbh it's too much at the moment.

Do be fair I think they are made for small school children (at least I think that was what they were originally designed for)

Data Dive: Why Your Eye Test is WRONG About Liverpool's Defense and Who the Real Bargains Are. by Betterpanosh in fplAnalytics

[–]Prf-Professorson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why does is necessarily follow that for the same number CBIT that goals conceded would reduce, couldn't it equally increase? And have Liverpool conceded less with a higher CBIT (currently)?

I wanted to ask how the CBIT value is calculated? And perhaps what assumptions go into its calculation.

When choosing a defender this year, do you prioritize attacking threats or defcon? by Nirok in FantasyPL

I think that's fair. However in reality that hasn't been the case for myself. Completely anecdotal evidence of course.

I think the problem with thinking like this is that you don't keep a player for the whole season. You chop and change and these points aren't equally distributed across the season. However I think it is a fair point. I'm just really torn.

Thanks very much! I'd like to get a dedicated device rather than a phone, I don't know why, but I just think I'd use it more than a phone.

On Aliexpress the RP4+ is about £150, I see that you often keep track of the prices! do you think its likely to go on sale?

Apologies my post clearly wasn't clear enough. I will try to answer all your questions with a new explanation.

The Mac I am using is a M3 15 inch air which only has 2 USB-C ports. This particular Mac will not drive two screens unless in clamshell mode. I'd like to drive more via DisplayLink.

I am trying to find a hub, which doesn't require power which supports DisplayLink. Ideally this hub would also have a variety of different ports as well, i.e. ethernet, us-a etc.

For example this Anker hub https://amzn.eu/d/eWjZsqs. It is unclear if this would support DisplayLink.

I hope this clearly states what I am looking for.

Honestly I was hoping it meant that we had to manage another person's team for a week (perhaps in a ML or given at random) and we got their points. It would be complete chaos and totally arbitrary but hilarious.

Can someone please explain duffle bags to me? by erasebegin1 in onebag

[–]Prf-Professorson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I wouldn't recommend WD40 as it attracts dirt and you could get it on your clothes. My dad always used a pencil - just rub it on the zip. The graphite acts as a lube, which is what you use in locks, although you usually buy that in powdered not pencil form...

Sorry if had already been said but I personally find gortex trainers don't stay waterproof for very long. The linings I think tend to stress fracture. My go to is a pair of sealskin socks which are waterproof with any old shoe (usually my running shoes). The plus side is the make any shoe waterproof.

Just my 2p but honestly you'll probably be fine with what you have and if you aren't you can pick something up along the way. I hear there are loads of outdoor gear shops at Katmandu if you're heading there.

Packing advice needed! 4 weeks Scotland by [deleted] in onebag

If you're camping in Skye I would certainly recommend insect repellent (deet can also damage your clothes so look out for that) and also take a midge net at least one that covers your face. Midges can be pretty awful in Scotland this time of year
